Should Capcom continue with Street Fighter or another franchise?

What about DC vs Capcom?

Failing that, Image Comics vs Capcom. Savage Dragon teams up with Haggar against Spawn and BB Hood.

Image comics publishes creator-owned comics. There’s too many individual licenses to obtain to make that even remotely possible.

This is pretty dumb. Vanilla SF4 was pretty stupid, vanilla Marvel 3 was godawful and vanilla SFxT was even worse.

The premier versions of Capcom games, ST and 3S, are sequels.

Capcom vs disney sounds like a better idea.

mickey/ryu vs Akuma/pete

one hell of a match

What kinda title is that? Just call it Power Stone 3. Power Stone never had any of those unnecessary titles and it doesn’t need to start now if it gets picked back up.

That Capcom All-Stars Idea is looking really good right now…If not that…

Capcom similarly to SNK(who has a crapton of FG IP’s) can pull out of a hat, what they could potentially bring back.

People say Power Stone, and honestly I’m not sure if it’s a good time to bring that series back unless you really want it Wii U exclusive, think about it, the Wii U(like the Dreamcast before) relies on having that chaotic Local Multiplayer interaction, sure you can add an online function to it but we all know who really enjoyed this game whether it was in the arcade or on DC, it was with a group friends/family playing it with you. Wii U is the only Console imo that can market that and do it well, it will also contrast with Smash bros in a way giving people more options in that style of fighter.

Darkstalkers imo has a better shot than Rival Schools/Project Justice because in recent years we get crossover appearances from DS characters far more frequently than any RS character…hell not may people know who Batsu is, let alone his teammates. The problem with both games are that they are niche and have only a devoted fanbase to rely off of. This is more so true with series like Cyberbots, Star Gladiator, and Tech Romancer.

This is my opinion though, honestly Capcom could do whatever and people will still get mad.

Final Fight Revenge 2

How don’t they have the money? They’re one of the most successful developers out right now.

I think it’s safe to say that SF4 is getting a little crowded, especially with the 5 new characters coming in US4. Now, I’m not necessarily saying that that’s a bad thing, but it makes me wonder… With the game being a mash-up of a ton of Street Fighter characters - enough to appeal to a mass of different people and keep the game fresh - what could SFV possibly do with it’s roster? Bring all of these characters and even more? Drop some, keep others, and add new ones? Either way, they run the risk of having too many characters OR dropping characters which could piss fans of said characters off. But, if they made a game entirely consisting of brand new characters, wouldn’t they run the risk of alienating a lot of fans? It’d be like early SFIII all over again.

With that being said, I think they should just take some time off of SFV and give another fighter some love. I mean, couldn’t they just make adjustments or add characters every once in a blue to keep SFIV relevant as they worked on another title anyway? And, with that all being said, making rosters must be hard as fuck.

Make a new IP
Put throwback character(s) in
Profit

A new IP would be nice. This genre could really benefit from more new IP’s I think.

Continue with SF but also at least take a risk and bring back an older IP since sf can bring the $$$$ an they could make a lower budget Darkstalkers game or whatever they want to try, personally I wouldn’t mind seeing a new IP but there’s soo many capcom fighters I wanna see return and also I think sf5 will come just not soon since the next gen didn’t start maybe afew years once enough people buy the ps4/xbone.

Can Capcom do a crossover with Arc Systems feasibly? That would be GODLIKE!

Only if Arc is developing.

I also feel that some characters (namely Street Fighter ones) would be too limited to perform well in an ASW-style engine.

As I’m not one of Capcom’s financial reps, I have no idea. I’m just regurging what Ono said.

http://pixelenemy.com/street-fighter-producer-debunks-street-fighter-5-rumour-says-he-doesnt-have-the-staff-or-budget/

What he probably means is staff and money have not been put together specifically to make a new SF. From what I understand there was a bit of delay putting together Project Soul again because they were all moved to other projects(like tekken) at Namco. So maybe its a planning thing like that.
Thats just a wild guess from me.

No R&D budget means there is no money in Capcom’s current fiscal year left to put a team together to even begin breaking ground on it.

Street Wise 2.

Yeah, it would turn out 20x better if Arc made it. I think the Street Fighter type characters could adapt decently if the same amount of creative license was taken with their moves as what we have in the MvC series. Plus, this is the only time I would take T.Hawk over Gief in a crossover strangely enough.

On paper, it should be easy enough to promote when you have the potential for:
-Morrigan or Raptor/Zabel vs I-No
-Strider vs Chipp Zanuff
-Chun-Li vs Millia Rage
-BB Hood/Buletta or Chris Redfield vs Noel Vermillion
-Dante vs Ragna or Sol
-Donovan or Hsien-Ko vs Litchi
Well, a lot of my ideas are non-Street Fighter characters, but you get the point. The idea is DRIPPING with hype match-ups. Plus, both companies can reach out to a market they may not normally have. (Capcom gets to see the anime crowd, and Arc Sys gets to deal with mahvel players)

I think Capcom should continue the series but, also work on other titles.
