Has anyone mentioned the match between Combofiend and Ed Ma at SBO Quals? That match was legendary. A lot of matches from that tourney that were really good.

Damn, I should get some of the guys from the Tatsunoko vs. Capcom boards in this thread. Nobody really plays TvsC here in North America seriously, so there is no point in even bringing up mostly crazy Japanese matches.
Some nice SF4 matches though so far.
while daigo vs. iyo was my favorite match of the year, there is definitely merit to pissing an announcer off by jamming a square peg into a round hole.

I second this. Hypest shit ever, and I think this was the first time anybody saw Sakura at a high level of play, people were losing their shit.
The problem with that video is that it lacks Dogface’s commentary. “WHOA THAT WAS STRAIGHT OUT OF THE MATRIX!”

Pope Temmy vs Mow Money Match in Street Fighter Alpha 3 Upper @ Arcade Legends: Take Up The Gauntlet on Nov 7, 2009.
This is hands down the most epic and hilarious set of matches I’ve witnessed all year, but the very last match takes the cake. Such great commentary from the players themselves and those watching. Pope Temmy busts out the “2-hit COMBO!” as he attempts to cement his “spectacular comeback” after losing 6 straight to Mow and then winning one match before this final.

I was so moved by the comedic elements of this tragedy that I took the Theme of Sakura from the SFIV soundtrack (Sakura is Pope Temmy’s favorite IV character) and included in it sound bites from the first to 7. Most of the sound bites come from the very last match. Pope Temmy was kind enough to take the joke well and even uploaded it for all to hear!
It would be amazing if Pope Temmy vs Mow, First to 7 $5 Money Match, the final match, could become 2009’s Match of the Year. I’m looking for all of Dayton/Cincy, Ohio for backup!
