Shortcut for (Kara) Special Move to Super

As I haven’t heard about this technique on streams and haven’t found a dedicated topic, I don’t know if this is so basic that nobody talks about it or if it’s yet to be revealed !

A friend of mine (Zouni) told me about a shortcut allowing to quickly cancel or kara cancel a special move into a super.

For this cancel to work, the special move command (on the directions, not the buttons of course) must be the same as the super, or end in the same way. The idea is to do the special move and then quickly press two attack buttons for the super to come out.

Example with Ryu :
236 L ~ L+M : he cancels the hadoken startup into a shinkuu hadoken
6236 L ~L+M : he cancels shoryuken into air shinkuu hadoken (thus making it much easier to land a shinkuu hadoken on a grounded opponent after a regular backthrow, I think I’ve seen this in an early combo video made by a guy who has many ryu/akuma combo video, can’t remember his name). It also works if the SRK connects, and level 3 will come out if you have 3 bars.

Skrull :
236 L~L+M : He’s surrounded by flames when the super starts, which is cooler

Wesker :
236 L~L+M : Cancels the palm start-up into Super, this gives more range (like a kara SA in 3.3)
63214 L ~L+M : Kara command grab into counter super

I’ve only tried with these 3 characters, who compose my team.

It works with virtually everyone as far as i know; the problem is who, if anyone, it actually gives value to.

Maybe I’ll use that wesker one for ppl who mash out of cmd grab… lol

It works really well with Wolvie to beserker barrage to berserker barrage hyper to dhc. if you land the first berserker barrage at least. this is how i use it anyways.
