The new black(short throw) PAS actuators also have a larger OD on the cylinder that engages the gate. I think the old aluminum are the same as the new white(long throw) in that the OD on the cylinder matches the JLF stock actuator.
You most certainly can make a JLF feel very much not like a JLF.
^Yea for real. I was quite amazed at how short the Kowal made the throw on the JLF feel. If i’m not mistaken, the throw now feels a tad bit shorter than the throw on the LS-40, while the engage feels the same. Both my JLF and my LS-40 are both sitting at ~20mm above the control panel, so I’m not sure how that has contributed to their feeling.
I’m in now way a JLF fanboy, lol, you guys should know this. I pretty much wrote the JLF off, until President mentioned the Kowal mod. Really great mod. I encourage all JLF owners to try it
