you know shit talking is fine. i usually hear it from total mall scrubs. all the other times i hear it from friends ribbing each other.
the only time i’ve gotten pissed was at some local arcade when i was with my friends waiting for someone. i put up a coin on a cvs2 machine for the next game. the guy on the 1p side turned to me, smiled and said “thanks for the donation,” and pocketed it. i told him to put it back and he said i was going to lose to him anyway so i punched him in the jaw. he ended up leaving with his friend and i ended up having nobody to play against.
Probably ignore him and talk shit back. Why should i get slapped with trash-talk and to nothing back? I’ll just do my best not to lose like an 8 year old.
Hate to sound uncool, but sometimes, people get shit talked to, because they need a reality check.
Everyone has heard shit like...you're so lucky, you know I would have killed you with XXX cause I always hit XXX.
But damn, we’re human we make mistakes in judgment and mistakes in execution.
I think to myself, this guy is a fucking dumbass to think that one move makes an entire game, and that the whole game was decided solely on that one action without regards to everything that happened or didn’t happen to that point.
Just observe the shit talkers, some shit talkers out there are really fucking good, maybe the shit talkers are just stating the obvious… comments like “This guy is always falling for the same shit it’s so easy to beat this guy.” They aren’t gonna say it like that, but broken down it might mean that. A change of strategy might be a good thing, and maybe the guy might become a good person to have a freidnly rivalry with later on.
Hopefully you meet alot of people like this…as they press your buttons, they actually help you get better.
The other type where they just go out just to ruin other people’s fun and not contribute anything, just gotta try and ignore them.
I used to mimic their playing and also how they were acting. One fucking guy would tap the button really hard and toss his arm back every time he threw. So I started doing the same exact thing and more of it.
Another guy actually started making karate noises when he would land a hit, you can only imagaine how annoying a Urien combo with reset got when I got him in the corner and I started making my own sounds.
I won’t name a certain person *ALEX!COUGH but I know this one guy who uses Fey Long on SFA3 and never, ever wins. All he ever does is use his World Tour mod (with charging bar no less) and does super all day. So when you beat him he SERIOUSLY gets pissed off at you, even if there were a million reasons why you win.
Comments usually go like this;
Ale–err Opponent:“Oh shit son! You gonna get PWNED” (he says it as “pawned” lol)
Myself:“Yeah whatever” (I’m humble, what can I say?) 2 minutes later
Opponent:"You got lucky as hell. You know I would have OWNED you"
Myself:"Before or after you stopped jumping around with the controller like a retard?"
Opponent:“Pfft. Whatever son. I got madd skillz”
Hey, arcades, competition, whatever. If I lost in a game, it’s always because I was in the face of a better competitor, and I always give ‘em props for bestin’ me. But at the same time, when I win, it gives me the right to feel a little cocky, especially when the person I just beat was talking up shit. Besides, you’re never going to get better until you learn from your losses, right? If everybody took it outside whenever they lost then nobody will ever learn from their mistakes.
There was one guy that would mimic the name pronouciations of level 3 supers, which annoyed me a bit but kept on playing my game. I won decisively a couple times but didn’t talk back.
I hear shit-talking occasionally on XBL while playing 3rd Strike, but it usually ends up being empty shit-talking (meaning the guy sucks). I win a couple of matches, he gets pissed, and usually drops. I don’t have a mic hooked up, so I don’t talk back. Also, I probably wouldn’t anyway, it’s not worth the effort.
i usually just laugh at them and say we will see
and i wil only tell them they suck if they press the issue of shit talking after a few times gettin beasted
and the guy who got spit on FUCK THAT SHIT i would have started fucking that guys whole world up
