Shit talking, how do you react to it

I laugh and ignore them.

lol theres more then just marneto and flash that talk shit, its just that a lot of people that talk shit, focus there energy one one person, weather it be from getting aim names to flame this annoymous person or randomly going in threads to flame this unfortante person.

Bryheem is like half the reason MvC2 is still alive, haha.

And sometimes making fun of Kyohei / MarlinPie / his mother is pretty damn fun.

:D!

Clayton: That would be the tasteless kind of shit talk that I’m talking about. People resorting to personal insults and shit is something that I try to avoid when trash talking. As long as you keep it in game it’s all gravy.

orka: You should come to EC with Bozac sometime and get yourself christened, hahaha

Flash backs up his shit.

There was also this one Sol player from team serious who would “tag team Sol” with a worse(newer) Sol player. And he’d talk a lot of shit. He was good, but it was damn annoying -_-

Wow… If people get OVERLY pissed over a multi-hit hold rather than a throw… wow. They have no idea.

Multi-hit holds usually do less damage lol.

what’s wrong with a little shit talking. it spices things up and make the loser elevate his game. and if you’re the one getting shit on then step up your game and give that guy a good game next time.

ignore, play cheese to win, if they have a problem we take it outside :stuck_out_tongue:

Wow your fuckin’ clueless.
You fail to notice that no one can talk shit to someone from the south and get away with it unless your really fuckin’ lucky.
Shit talk in the south >>>>>>>> Shit talk in the east

WE GOT THE CRAZY MEXICANS THAT DON’T KNOW WHEN TO SHUT UP AND ARE NOT AFRAID TO SPEAK THERE MIND!!! YEAH!!!

All the east has are many random gangs that pick on random gay/old people at stop lights or gas stations/stores.
Yeah, liek omg so tuff, lolz!11!

And after reading about the “XX scene” crap you posted, its really fuckin’ obvious you got no idea what your saying.
LEARN YOUR SHIT SUCKA OR GTFO!!!

Seriously, I don’t know who isn’t like that… but it usually behind there back.

Guy 1: Hey, did you see that guy play?
Guy 2: Yeah, he fuckin’ sucked real bad.
Guy 1: Ya’ I know, he thought he was all badass.

I do that shit too, yay me?

“All the east has are many random gangs that pick on random gay/old people at stop lights or gas stations/stores.
Yeah, liek omg so tuff, lolz!11!”

what are you talking about i thought this was about fighting games

now it’s a gay turf war

I’ve never come across a random asshole in a fighting game who was better than me/beating me, so the only shit they’ve talked is the stuff that makes me rofl. Everyone I’ve played in fighting games that’s better than me has either a good or indifferent attitude. Amongst friends, though, there’s hella shit talking.

I had this friend who I played casual MvC2 with all the time, sometimes we’d practically talk shit any time one of us landed a combo. He loved Cammy (hahaha, ARGH) and he got really got at 50-50ing after a KBA- roll. He could dash back and cross up my roll, get me with a c.lk and then do it again, or he could dash back, then cancel it into a forward dash, NOT crossing me up, and getting me. That shit fucked me up for a while, until I figured ways to get out of it. …That was completely unrelated, but it came to mind.

If I DID have something like this happen, though, to be honest I’d probably talk shit back. I’d resist making excuses, but I would want to, despite them being honest… Such as me being not used to sticks, takes me a while to warm up to them. Sticks take so much more motion to do stuff, haha.

I think I’m going to start being an arrogant prick. I’ve been mature in victories and it’s gotten old.

Shit talk in person is cool, and if it’s friendly, it’s fun for everyone to get involved.

Shit talk on SRK is different. That’s just old fashioned drama.

I get quietly excited when they shit talk, because their mind is wandering from the game, and the associated mental/play delay can undo them. If they’re able to beat you while not paying attention, YOU need to step your play the fuck up.

So I’ll go with E) Pay goddamn attention to the game and win.

I only really shit talk to people I like/feel comfortable with. Or people whose style of play I absolutely abhore, but those are few and far between. Anybody playing CvS2 comes to mind.
It’s harder for me to deal with people cheering me on than it is for me to deal with shit talking. I want the other guy distracted, feeling puffed up, over-confident, NOT feeling like he needs to concentrate for the win. The PNW’s biggest shit-talkers definitely deserved their right to trash talk me for a long time, but I paid attention instead of getting distracted, and now the table is pretty turned.

Wins speak louder than anything else. Letting yourself get distracted is stupid.

I really loved the trash talking element to arcades. It really did add some more depth to the game, but mostly just against scrubs. I’d also start playing one-handed sometimes just to make their losses hurt that much more. Whatever form it took, it was always in the spirit of fun.

I’ve had plenty of guys ask me to go out to the parking lot after a match so that we could ‘settle things like men’… Sure, dude, meet ya out there soon.

The worst case I’ve had is having a guy spit in my face after I killed him with a Ryu fireball trap. He claimed it was cheap, yet I continued to do it, saying nothing at all. He stormed off after spitting in my face, and I let him go. He came back in about 10 minutes and apologized and gave me a bunch of tokens…

So about which fighting game can I discuss things about that fighting game in this thread?

If the person beat me then they have all the right in the world to talk trash about my game. There is no reason to get mad if you were the one that lost. If you won then nothing they say matters to you. You don’t have to get pissed off if they are just talking about the game.

Depends on how big they are really. Not gonna trash talk with some hulking six-foioter really…

Ignore and play the game, more or less. Unless of course, they beat me and then make some stupid comment. And then I go in, choose a counter character, and go double perfect on him.

I haven’t really gone up against any shit-talkers, though, save for close friends who’re just messing around. 'Cause in the end, they all know that I’d end up hurting them in the end if they took it too far.

I have a short attention span so ignore would be my only option.
