I try to do st.lp > sweep, or st.lp > bnb but the opponent never seems to stand up if they were crouching at first o.0 even though it is a combo.
I would say Ibuki is very good in the exception of a very slow reversal and extremely slow overhead attack.
I started maining Ibuki 2 days ago. And I have to say she is extremely advanced. But she is fun to use. Especially playing around with her gimmicks (lk> mk,>HKcommand dash, throw
does anyone else here feel that her j.mk>j.lk cross up kinda useless?
I just prefer using j.mk
do j.lk back mk its a target combo. then go into l.p target combo
Saw you on the leaderboard last night Rico. Nice Repping of ibuki May need to friend you
lol yea I need practice tho i was jus lookin at it and gerjay seems to be a monster with ibuki his pp is damn near the same as his bp
Yeah I wish she had a better reversal option, I’m not liking the 5 frame start-up on LK kazegiri…
But as for her overhead I’d say the speed is acceptable considering all low attacks will whiff on her while she’s doing it.
guys is there any tip on the TK kunai ? i’m having a very hard time executing it, its usually just me whiffing a jumping attack
For Ultra II, what are you having trouble with? The combo you listed is impossible. If getting the ultra is your issue, there’s two stick motions I’ve been using, though I can’t decide which is more reliable:
360 from down, then QCF
or
down to up-forward, then QCF
im sorry if I mentioned it before… but my browser was acting weird when I tried replying 2 days ago… neways
im not able to execute the above combo :S 1hour training stage and im wondering what im doing wrong… is there a trick to it?
So I took my Ibuki online today for like the first time, oh man I got destroyed. I need so much practice it’s crazy. I expected it to be challenging but didn’t expect it to be this bad. On the bright side I know what to work on. My TCs dont seem to come out when I’m online. I tend to rely alot on sweeps and get punished bad. Last but not least, my ground game is weak.
hmm, i’ll have to try this.
Try to do it from Crouching HP first to make sure you are at least JCing? I find cr hp, standing mk, and lp to mp are the easiest ways to get the ultra off cleanly.
I still can’t do the full four hits of the lp-mp-hp combo into ultraII. It’s difficult.
What are some ways we can pull this off? I read in the game guide that if you do down then up during the lp mp notation and then do hp then qcf then up and then do 3 kicks you get it…but it feels retarded. haha
I took mine online and won six in a row. I was surprised that I did that well. I abused lp mp cr hk to hk really bad and threw some throws in there and did decent. I still have trouble pulling off her lp mp to hp to neck breaker in a match though.
I have this natural habit of doing aerial (or kunai) into crouching lp and its not really what i should be doing…like, at all.
Wanna play mirrors sometime? I know mirrors are annoying as hell and hated by most, but figured that’s a good way to learn. I just wanna see how other Ibukis that are learning approach the match.
So far st.hk both far and close versions are the best AA options I’ve found. Anything a shoto can dish out in the air is beat clean.
Found out the use of raida against Cammy while playing today. With the correct timing, Ibuki can raida spiral arrow, and cannon strike. Don’t know how high Cammy could be to grab, but I remember one cannon strike was near Ibuki’s gut and next she was getting grabbed by Ibuki.
What do yall do if you land a focus attack with Ibuki and you have no ultra? Do you go for max damage or start a vortex? I’ve just been doing lp > mp > hp > hp neck breaker or sometimes hp > d.hk > hk > sjc > kunai but always miss the link for the next TC and wish I had just gone for the better damage.
Usually vortex is going to get you more damage anyways. I find that I can’t really win if I don’t get my vortex up, so I don’t think giving up a vortex chance is a great idea.
I don’t know how valuable this is but i noticed you can go into ultra 2 if you hit the opponent with a kunai in the leg or foot. Maybe good for hit confirming? lol sorry I’m still learning.
Yup, add me. It’s a good way for us to develop without getting frustrated. We both suck and just want to get our execution down. I did a couple of matches tonight and got the vortex going.
Question: How viable is she against the likes of Akuma, Sagat, Ryu and Ken? Don’t their EX shoryukens rape the balls off of her vortex game?
So my 2nd round of online games got a little better after my last post. I worked on my ground game, played some footsies and tried to tone down my sweeps. Poking and playing footsies is not really easy for me as Ibuki, I had an easier time with Chun and I’m used to her alot more than Ibuki. Chun definitely has a stronger ground game, so now I just gotta learn and smarten up. Command Dash has been crazy useful I’ll tell you that.
