Is RDP+K a good way around FB’s? Or is it too slow in this game. Sometimes I’d get the random fireball spammer in 3s and I would do RDP+K into Kasumi Suzaku. Is that viable in this game?
Not entirely true. here’s what I did (and do in matches because it looks awesome as hell)
facing right - :dp::hk: ->FADC -> (you’ve now gone to the OTHER SIDE of them) :hcf::hp:
you go through them and do the raida motion to the right side. this works going left or right, but the point is it doesn’t need to be in the corner.
also a good way to put them in the corner by surprise if you’re in the corner and you have a chance to kazekiri (not on wakeup since it’s slow a shit, but maybe EX version?), essentially you’ll just kinda put them where you were.
I can’t do it, everytime I get the FADC the HCB+P whiffs.

Yeah I was thinking u could do that but for the sake of making the combo as braindead as possible u should just keep them in the corner.
Don’t worry too much about the trials. A lot of them are just filler execution combos that are unnecessary at high level. Like in Vanilla with Viper almost none of her trial combos are used at high level. Most use more practical combos and even use combo techniques that aren’t even in the trials.
I finished trial 24. Took me about 10 minutes cuz I had to remind myself that u have to link into the target chain really late after the c.LP’s.
Trial 24 might take you 10 minutes, but it’ll take me 10 years. You have SJC experience with viper though. I can barely do the SJC combo myself. Granted It’s only my second day. I’ve improved from 1 in 15 to 2 in every 12.
I even did it twice in a row once.
So I realized that Raida, if timed right, can beat alot of moves. Besides the Blanka ball and Honda headbutt mentioned before, it also beats Adon’s Jaguar Tooth and Dictator’s 2nd hit of the headstomp.
cant do trial 24 to save my life. If I start doing the super motion too early, she will do the teleport dash instead of the last kick. If I do it too late, the ultra doesn’t connect.
Still working on that one, I’m pretty awful at SJC to U2 right now, not to mention trying to get my links correct before it. The only link I hit consistently is the sweep link at like 95%. A little more practice and I’ll get it, I’m sure those having problems with it will too.
really though, you’re right… a LOT of the trials are just execution exercises that won’t ever be used in a match. I still never went through 80% of the vanilla trials, it’ll probably be the same with Super (even with chun and I mained her )
you have to pause for a second while he falls, you whiff if they’re too high but you’ll catch them even really close to the ground. Also, use RH kazekiri, it seems to launch higher.

Just practice st.mk, hjc, ultra on it’s own.
You have to start inputting the motion as soon as you press st.mk.
You can’t do it during the string as you mentioned.

Ibuki’s footsies kill the shit out of flying specials also. s.LP, s.MP, s.MK, f+HK, they all beat flying specials free. I thought about it and although using Raida to beat flying specials is cute the timing is pretty particular and if it whiffs you are dead. I believe if u just use your footsies Ibuki beats flying special spam clean. Which is huge considering Viper isn’t like that at all.

Practicing her hard trial 24 in training mode now. Got it down pretty consistent now. Can pretty much throw it out like a bnb offline like I could with Viper. U just have to cancel into the ultra QUICKLY. Like u need the SJC Ultra command completely in by the time Ibuki’s s.MK touches them.
i need to work f+hk more into my game. and i thought it was funny how my viper execution magically seemed to pick up days before getting to play super. seismo chains definitely helped in doing SJC xx U2. maybe people can go try seismo chains to get used to doing her last trial? just a suggestion. deviljin, i remember following you a lot on the boards back in the 3rd strike days to level up my ibuki
Yeah practicing Viper SJC cancels will help a lot with Ibuki. Ibuki’s SJC’s are basically like Viper’s except slightly tougher since you have to buffer the SJC’s in quicker. Like once the attack hits the opponent you have to have the full command in since u don’t get as many frames to buffer like with Viper.
Does Ibuki have any ultra setups beside a crumpling focus attack and super jump cancelling?
Not that I’ve seen. Unlike Viper without those 2 things u won’t be landing ultra 2 much. Ultra 1 punishes like everything on block at close range though.
this is a stupid question but can you sjc ultra 1?
^— ive never tested it but I assume sjc ultra 1 would be possible but without full animation… like you’d get the “whiff” animation since you cant grab someone in hit stun
