I’m playing P2 Innocent Sin right now and…yes and no. I’m liking it more then P3 for the most part, but not more then 4. It’s pacing isn’t as good, I’m about halfway and it’s starting to drag a bit and maybe it’s me but that is becoming a bit of an issue when I know I’m about half done with part 1 of a 2 part story, like why is the narrative running out of steam already?
Also our releases available for these two games is too damn uneven, really not lookin forward to moving from a PSP update and all the quality of life changes that come with that back to an old PS1 version of the game to finish up.
Atlus really needs to translate and release the PSP version of Eternal Punishment in the west, it’s so dumb that they haven’t yet.
I’ll just play the PSP versions on a Vita TV or whatever it is called if i want to playon the big screen. I play my turn based RPGs on my hand holds now anyway tho so it’s the preferable place to play imo.
I like Persona 2’s occult themes, but rumor nonsense and padding wore me out and I stopped at the fire temple. I am also not a huge fan of the persona backstory and prefer coercing demons into joining me.
I like the somewhat lighthearted take on Scooby Doo in the 4th Persona and the variety of levels. Persona 3 was too edgy with its put a gun to your head, suicide club bullshit. However, I was admittedly impressed by the train sequence and risque boss…
I am really excited to see something along the lines of Lucifer’s Call in the next Shin Megami Tensei. https://youtu.be/0Ba6NrZjvJk
P.S. Localized PSP versions of both Persona 2 games are available.
SMT trailer for Switch looks temping but I am still disappointed that they haven’t announced Devil Survivor 3. I hope they aren’t planning on that being a late 3DS release like they did with Devil Survivor 2 on the original DS, which I wound up buying on the DS and then again when the 3DS enhanced version was released. I would do it again but I would prefer being able to play it on the best possible version from the jump.
Anyone played through translated SMT 1 or 2 for snes? I made it about halfway through 1 before putting it aside…game was brutal. When back to my old consoles I think I’ll just skip to 2.
*I finished SMT1 and I fucking LOVE IT. Shit is hard (limbo labyrinth, Heroines mind etc) but hella fun and good. I played through a little bit of 2 but not too far. *
i finally got off my lazy ass and updated the OP. not that there was much to do i honestly deleted more stuff than i added since we know next to nothing about these two projects. considering the circumstances its likely at least one of these will be a remake.
the big question being what is this Switch game. i can’t help but draw parallels to Nocturne but that could just be wishful thinking. actually im not even sure i wish it all. to be perfectly honest Nocturne is one of the blandest games ive ever played and lack of detail and mostly flat coloring pretty leaves it pretty future proof. i feel like i would unlock firebreath, see a updated demifiend use it, then say “ok im done” .
Yea a lot of what made me like P4 so much was that I knew Jack shit about it going in. Working on keeping P5 the same. Gonna be tough tho, I wont be getting P5 on release.
