Shin Koihime Musou -Otome Taisen Sangokushi Engi-: Available NOW for Windows

i cant seem to get it to install, i’m well aware of the applocal stuff

when it gets to the ole installashield wizard at the point you get to installing in c: i click on next and nothing happens, my pc is pretty old and running xp, probable cause?

Nevermind, i think it’s time for an upgrade

Finish the vid first, then talk about front page.

Well, the video is complete for now. The only thing about it is that I’ve excluded the following:

Kanu, Chouhi, Chouun, & Kakoton

I’ll get to work on them by tonight. Hopefully, I don’t be at this for another 6 hours like I did last night.

Ah, this is exactly the game I played at my local arcade a few months back (it’s gone now). I managed to get it on PC now as well but I can’t seem to figure out how to change the controls for keyboard (I can easily just use xpadder to map the default keyboard buttons to stick though).
Going off on how it was when I played at the arcade and the little play I’ve had now, pretty much nothing chains or links into anything else and the only way to really land a combo is by landing a counter hit or one of those super slow moves that gives a forced fatal counter (then you get big combos).
Picked up the anime and it’s not bad so far as well.

Well, finally managed to get the video done with combos for every character. Doing combos for Shiryuu & Kakoton were hard to come up with. At any rate, hope you all enjoy!

Well, not the first example, there’s already the Triangle Hearts (eroge) -> Nanoha (anime) -> Gears of Destiny (fighter).

Also, anyone figure out a way to extract the dataxx.bin files? I am pretty sure they host the soundtrack and the art assets. And speaking of art, from my short time playing it, it does look pretty gorgeous.

Also, any idea why the game would go from 60FPS to 1FPS when trying to record through FRAPS?

So what are the mechanics? What is QCF B+C and when do I use it?

Why is it that sometimes in training mode the dummy will get knocked by any attack, even A?

I was playing against the CPU and I swear sometimes my char would do a wake up move even though I didn’t press anything, what gives?

Why is that sometimes when I perform combos ending in a special the special glows slightly? Did I drop the combo and score a counter-hit perhaps?

How do you perform that burst move?

edit: OK, found tataki’s system guide.

Actually that’s one thing I remember happening to me as well in the arcade, moves coming out without pushing buttons.
Also had more of a mess around with the settings and it looks like I can only change controls if I have a controller plugged in, so I can’t change the default keyboard keys.
Guess I’m gonna have to keep playing cross-handed while playing on the bus to Uni.

I have yet to experience anything of the sort with the game pulling off moves without me pressing a button. Maybe I’m just lucky that it doesn’t happen.

At any rate, when making my video, I’ve noticed that the game drops to a crawl when FRAPS is in use at times. I had to do so many retakes just because of that shit. As to why it happens, I don’t know.

But anyway, seriously, can someone please show me some stuff that can be done with Kakoton & Shiryuu because I seriously was lacking in making longer combos with them two. I can’t find anything that remotely works other than what I’ve done in the video.

Had to look up the wiki to figure out which characters you’re talking about b/c I can’t decipher moonrunes lol, and Shiryuu isn’t even there lol so I dunno which bitch that is. All I know with Kakoton is that A: full charged 2C does more than full charge jC right after fatal starter, and I generally see her optimal combos involving corner carry from one of the 214 moves depending on spacing into OTG shit.

I need to start watching match videos again and get a better idea of optimal BnBs for the characters I use, the last time I watched this game was like two years ago lol. Standard 6B jumpwhatever 3B jumpwhatever 6C whateverwhatever shit does like at least 1k less then the good stuff, but the rules on juggle limits for the otg system are kinda wonky.

Chō’un Shiryū is the seventh girl to appear in my video with the spear and blue hair.

Oh welp. You’ve got the right idea with doing late jC into w/e right after crumple. Same with Katokon her better stuff comes from OTGs, at least near the end of the combo. 623B and C into stuff can work but they’re really iffy on spacing from my (Admittedly limited) exp. 236 series causes hard down so with the right positioning you should be able to get at least 22C after it, dunno about lvl3 super though b/c I can’t training mode right now.

Chouun combos from top of my head.

Does this game require alot from your computer to run? I’m able to smoothly run the Touhou: Hopeless Masquerade demo with the background animations off.

I’m planning on getting this even if there is not gonna be netplay, but if I can’t run it smoothly then whats the point?

Nice to see more people people liking these footsie based fighters

If you need the PC spec requirements for this game, here you go:

http://koihi.me/pc_index.html

I understand neither Japanese nor computer specs, but I compared the specs to Touhou:13.5 and I’m able to play that so thanks for the link!

I’ll download the demo when I have enough time so I can double check. Hopefully somebody adds netplay so we can all play against each other one day.

http://blog.esuteru.com/archives/7196162.html seems this is getting a ps3 release. sept. 26.

This is great and all but I hope BaseSon will add online play to it otherwise, there’s no benefit to playing it outside of the PC version. It’ll be more of a slap in the face for those who bought the PC version if it does get online play while the PC version doesn’t…at least, that’s how I feel about it. All in all, this is still good news.

Cool to hear that it’s coming on PS3, but it looks like I’ll have to put off buying the PC version on the chance that the PS3 version has online play.(I want to play it now)

If it does get online then it’ll kinda suck for the people who bought it already, but at least having it on another platform will get more people exposed to the game.

So does this require joy2key? I can’t seem to find any settings or button config
