Shin Akuma in Super Street Fighter!

Just fought Shin Akuma 2 times today. I played the CPU and got 3 perfects, 3 Ultra finishes and beat Seth without any continues. He challenged me after defeating Seth.

He has a normal 2 Air fireball and is very fast. I havent played him enough to see what else is new but he has insane speed!

was hoping they would throw him in even if he isn’t playable (would really want him to be). How is the CPU overall though? As shitty as before where it throws out a focus or an ultra every 2 seconds??

Ive been playing the game on very easy getting all the endings opened up. So I cant tell you how good he really is.

What are the conditions for fighting shin akuma? I can’t play AS akuma?

I followed the conditions with 3 perfects, 3 ultras not including Rival and Seth and keep getting Gouken.

Yea, you cant fight Akuma with Akuma, or Gouken with Gouken, the only mirror match that can be done in Arcade is Seth on Seth I think

Nope, not in vanilla either… I tried, n I’d always get gouken or nothing

I fought akuma on hardest with geif. I got 1 perfect and like… 3-5 super/ultras I believe. Did it through again with like 3 perfects and got gouken. Playing 1 round of course.

I assume therefore its just like the old game. You only want to get 1 perfect if you are playing 1 round matches… 3 if you are playing 3 round matches, etc.

I wonder about Shin Akuma’s frame data. He seems to recover and be back in his teleport much faster than standard Akuma.

i’m pretty sure he has instant recovery with his teleport… because I’ve been in the middle of a lariat and when he has teleported into my lariat and was able to SRK me… yea… its not even close. That teleport is like a fuckin MUGEN teleport…lol.

Shin Gouken is JUST as bad on Hardest Difficulty… They are straight up button reading SNK Bosses

I wouldave liked to have made a seperate thread for this but this post should suffice.

Before making Shin Akuma playable Capcom should consider choosing out of the following possible upgrades, beware these are only suggestions on how to make him Super Badass without having any disappointments.

Im sure we all are gonna have to be satisfied with SSFIV for a good while before any further StreetFighter iterations present themselves (on the same technical level as SSFIV). If at least a few of these suggestions were personified then im sure the fun and amazment would extend far beyond the people who seriously Main Akuma. This is my very small contribution to what I feel would be an awesome and Worthy Shin Akuma.

Here Goes;

The main and most important would be to give him MISOGI instead of DA, DA is ABSOLUTE !!PANTS!! and should be !!REMOVED!! from his arsenal (doesnt matter how well u can combo into it, its SHIT and TAINTS Akuma’s martial prowes!) It would be kool if the Misogi could be tacked onto a broken block string in the same way that Gouken anticipates with his Parry (would obviously have to have a quick start up but wud obviously be used as a counter - like Cammy and Fei’s new Ultras, maybe in this respect it would suit better being a Super instead?), that would be great nonetheless!!

Also, if the Misogi were to become Shin Akumas new ultra it would be extra awsome if the animation for the Misogi had a white background like Ryu/Guy/Gen’s Ultras etc (cinematic crazy shit!)

He should build meter at a certain % quicker than normal (preferably during his merciless onslaughts, or either do more damage or have better stun/health. I think giving him normal health would suffice (remember these are only sugesstions, take from it what you will, leave the rest! I hope Yoshinori Ono or his people see this)

It seems as though the recovery and speed of his teleport has increased, which is good. An overall speed upgrade would be good at least backdash so u can dp FADC backdash Shaku, but less recovery on 3 hit shaku would be nice (i suppose we got EX version though right?)

Apart from less startup on Ultra Demon, the only other thing I can think of apart from making the Demon Flip Dive Kick an overhead (and his already meterless double zanku) would be to have more interesting colours/costumes because his new alternate isnt at all serious to say the least.

maybe making his m dp knockdown on crouching adversaries rather than whiffing?

I wonder what his ex zanku would be now???

If anyones up for a battle, I’d be happy, Ive been maining Akuma for a while now and would like some fresh competition to gain some constructive criticism.

Interesting to see what this will bring, I’m sure ppl will say he’d be overpowered etc but full strength Akuma would just about OWN anyone in the Streetfighter Universe anyway (well him and Garuda would be epic but thats a WHOLE other thread!). So lets see what people think about this 1 because to me, this is the most interesting thing about the game at the moment!
