Shenmue 1 wasnāt a great game and hasnāt aged well it has a lot of flaws and most fans are incapable of not looking at it with rose tinted glasses, that being said it was still a unique and fun game and the sequel fixed most of the flaws, Iām not crying over a third one like some of you, but itās still really fucking awesome to finally get closure after all this time.
Watch Shenmue 4 get announced after 3 launches, Lan Di comes back as a cybernetic zombie dragon with a machine gun arm XD.

Shenmue has always been a very interesting series and doesnāt need to have had been a block buster. It appears that they are well aware that the series has alot of good ideas and are willing to give it a shot.
I canāt wait!
Somebody should crowdfund Hellboy 3 and Kick-Ass 3.
The aging is likely why weāre getting the first two games condensed into movie form. I loved the first Shenmue but I donāt see myself playing through it again. Iāll gladly take a refresher.

I still got Shenmue 2 to finish. I bought a copy recently but before that I aināt played in since i was like 8. But i do remember enjoying that one.
I actually finished the 1st game a few months ago. And yeah it has flaws, but idk i still think itās a coo game just from how it progresses and the characters, cutscenes and etc.
But yeah I believe the OG Ryo VA is returning. Idk i want Shenmue 3 to still have that sorta bad voice acting because that gives the games so much charm
part of shenmueās charm is the atrocious english voice acting. itās not OG RE-tier levels of atrocious but it is up there. still, it could use tweaking before it gets released so at least it could be digestible by casual gamers and not just die hard fans. XD
Personally I hope Yu tones down the mystical stuff, one of the reasons I enjoyed the story was for how grounded it was but then that last disc of Shenmue 2 goes and shits on all that.

I hope thereās still mysticism in it but the appearance of the mystical just extremely understated. one of its merits is the power of belief in oneself; hardwork, positivity and belief creates all kinds of advances in abilities and is the key to humanity.
Shenmue respects traditions which is what gives the environments and its people such fidelity that is unrivalled in most games
I was looking at the chapter concept art and it gave me a very Chinese hero comic book type vibe, a bit of kung fu, a bit of heroism akin to Dragon Tiger Gate, Fung Wan or Heaven Sword and Dragon Sabre type ish.

Well it DID start as Virtua Fighter RPG.
Iāve heard prices have gone up for the Shenmue II, but itās not looking bad. Only played the first (hated the controls for the fighting upon multiple playthroughs), and didnāt bother with the second, with some of it due to Peter Moore cancelling the U.S. release. About to change that with since the 3rd one is on its way. Iām wondering if heās going to end it at 3 or continue up to Chapter 6?
He already did a lot of condensing just between Shenmue 1 & 2. I believe originally the entirety of the second game (Chapter 2) was supposed to take place on the boat for instance.
Ryo gets amnesia and lives the rest of his life as Akira. Top tier plot twist, OP pls nerf.
