FWIW, the first time I ever met Cableguy (Evo 2003), he was already legendary for coming into hotel rooms uninvited, and was an influence on why “certain hotel rooms” were more shut down than they would have been otherwise. I remember one time when the room owner asked everyone he didn’t know to get out, and everyone looks at Cableguy (the only random guy there) who is not leaving and he says … “What?”. :lol:
The second time I ever met Cableguy I was running the brackets at NCR1(? maybe NCR2) and he was trying to get me to give him an easier match, which I was not cool with (I personally do “weighted random” brackets (random seed top players first, then everyone else), but these weren’t my brackets, and asking for an easier match… bleh).
I’ve seen him since then and have no problem with him nor anyone else, but, Cableguy is legendary for coming into rooms that don’t want him there. This has been going on for at least four years(!), so none of this should be a surprise to anyone. If it is… well, now you know. I just didn’t feel it was fair to anyone to have this be perceived as something new or something where people haven’t spoken up about it in the past.
-Preppy, random Tron guy, who again has no beef with anyone other than anybody who plays MSP 
EDIT: Chunksta points out that at NCR1 Cableguy was probably trying to avoid playing against his homeboys. That’s probably the case, but I’m about 90% certain that he was asking for an easier match if I could switch him, which is what raised flags in my mind, and he did immediately ask to run the brackets once I said no… It doesn’t really matter because everything I’ve seen about Cableguy has shown that he really wants to get better and may have just wanted a “warm-up” match, as some people do ask for. I respect that he’s fighting to get better, but I’d think maybe he needs to chill a little more (and not drink).
