Seems decent for some poverty fun
From the people that made Kings Of Kung-Fu? Avoid at all cost, their games have shitty controls.
This looks better than King of Fighters 14 though.
Praise be to Jae Lee for bringing back the light in these dark times. A time when martial arts are no longer a part of the fighting genre.
This game is a huge improvement over Kings of Kung Fu. Input and hit detection are completely fixed by the movement to Unity engine (adds overhead). The visual fidelity is also increased while remaining on par with the original’s presentation. The characters now have weapons. Movesets are more streamlined and balanced in this iteration. The change of invincible dash to a button distinguishes itself visually and cannot be abused. Jumping and jump in combos are much better in this game and actually act as a staple of the gameplay. The throws now connect at a reasonable range. The characters block and dodge like in Martial Arts films when holding back. There are supers (and meter) added to make the last hits of the match more stylish. I am saddened by the removal of some Kings of Kung Fu characters but the number of new features trumps that disappointment. It is still in Early Access and a little rough around the edges, but it is undeniably fun.
*During the Steam Winter Sale it is available for just $8 USD, but in my opinion is worth five times more.
