It was a 4 frame dp in SFxT. Just because it beats out jump ins doesn’t mean it’s a 3 frame dp. They would give her a 3 frame dp and make her largely unable to be safe jumped when she has so many advantages already. Also you don’t compare one character to another to divine frame data.
i doubt elena does either, with meter or no. only shotos currently have 3f uppercuts and nobody without a normal 3f uppercut has an ex version that fast.
If white health she should instantaneously get it, since any hit will interrupt. I agree with you about it not being so great. I think it is being greatly overrated.

Okay, I guess I could be wrong. Wasn’t looking to get anyone’s hopes up or start anything. SF4 Elena looks a helluva lot faster than xTekken Elena, overall. I remember what the first footage of the xTekken hack of Elena looked like, I’m just saying the SF4 footage we have now tells me a different story.
Healing is completely useless due to laughably bad recovery. Can be cancelled, but obviously stops healing. Just doesn’t seem worth it either way.
St.HK no longer moves forward.
Cancelling cr.MP into special is far stricter.
Cr.LK to cr.MP still possible.
Super seems useless. Dropped combo on first hit, then opponent punished.
Mallet Smash recovery seems to be too great to allow for it to link to cr.MP. it could still be possible, but it certainly is very different from SFxT.
Rhino Horn is MUCH slower. Even EX version was not fast enough to punish Sonic Boom.

I re-read my post and facepalmed. What I meant was she just looked overall faster from all the xTekken playing and replay watching I did. I just wanted my notes to reflect that, plain and simple.

Damn they removed the insane hit/block stun the mallet smash did? In SfxT all version minus :hk: was at least +6 on hit and +4 on block.

EDIT: seen a video of healing. Looks pretty damn fast to me. After a forward throw most opponents will have to dash twice, I say most they get a a hard knock down from sweep.
Also if the opponent has a forward moving attack(slide, ex hayate) they can punish like that.
As for jump ins? I doubt it. you can see it coming and cancle the ultra, unless the cancel has some receovery
When I did Healing, she went into some taunt or something after it was over… sometimes. At first I thought it only happened if you let the heal complete without cancelling, but then it did it to me once even when I did the PPP cancel. I dunno. That shit just seems way too damn risky.
I’m not saying Ultra 1 is a better option, though. That move loses to literally every attack in the game. No priority at all. I guess with Ultra 2 you don’t have to worry about priority. Can’t even use Ultra 1 as an anti air anymore.
Couldn’t combo off either handstand overhead, though that could be my incompetence. Rhino Horn seemed too slow to combo into as well. Also, st.MK xx Cr.HP no longer allows combos like in 3S or xT, the opponent hits the ground before you recover.
There’ll be a location test for USF4 tomorrow here in Brazil, and I wonder if there’s something I should aim for during my play time with our favorite capoerista.
Right, I’m thinking that + test out DP’s and Brave Dance’s invincibility and if Spinning Scythe is a true blockstring or mashable between hits like it is in cross tekken. Anything else (I should have a good amount of time to test things out)?

Does EX lynx tail allow follow ups if it juggles? (For example HK scratch wheel [dp kick] anything other than ultra 1)

Does cr.mp > st.mp still combo?
Does EX Mallet combo into cr.mp/st.mp?
How good are her AA normals? (st.lp/ st.mp/ cr.HP)
Is her F+mp dp safe and does it still have more range than Ryu’s cr.MK?
Does mk move her forward?
Does ex Rhino horn hit crouching opponents ?
Can you punish any of her specials?
Can you combo of any of her command overhead? Forward mk and forward mp?
On the note of her command overheads, I noticed that the slow one, where she kicks with both feet, causes knockdown on counterhit airhit in one of the streams (I’m guessing the CH isn’t needed though).
The new characters are less complete than I though, but Elena is the worst. Like, her stuff doesn’t really connects properly (simple stuff like s.lk xx hk Lynx Tail whiffs most times), the impact on her moves are really funky, etc.
She barely has any links at all. Cr.mp x2 does not works, she only has s.lk and cr.lk links for now.
Slide is the best anti fireball move in the game right now, far better than Blanka’s imo.
S.mk xx cr.hp TC into hk DP works, word is that someone landed Ultra 1 after it (I wasn’t there yet so I can’t be sure, take with a grain of salt).
BackHK is absent in this build, s.hk doesn’t hops forward as much as in sfxtk. Destroys Rolento’s cr.lk, but couldn’t link into anything after.
DP is fine I guess… it’s kinda like the same as sfxtk, good hitbox, but small invincibility. Realiable anti air, so it’s good.
HK Lynx Tail has the weirdest hitpauses ever and is hard to fadc. Best time to fadc seems to be on second hit, does a large hitstun and you can combo lvl 2 focus from it. Think Yang’s second rekka.
Spinning Scythe’s follow ups often misses, poor hitboxes.
Brave Dance is really good, very quick startup and good invincibilty. Hard to punish on block.
Healing is in it’s beta stage as well. Full Ultra heals a lot (like almost 50%), but is very very punishable, so you have to interrupt it earlier. You’ll probably aim for 30% heal on full Ultra mostly. Double Ultra Healing is very weak, as you can never let her do the whole animation, and you’ll barely heal anything if you interrupt. HK Lynx Tail xx Focus lvl2 xx backdash into ultra 2 was the best setup I could do for the little I could play with her, but looks useful actually.
She is really unfinished right now, kinda ugly and boring to play as, but I’m very optimistic that she’ll be a great character. She has everything she needs, it’s really up to Capcom to not fuck things up. May have another shot again this week, will let you guys know if I find something new. =)
