SG Q&A Thread - Launch Party April 10-11th

My friend has bought some JP stuff. From what I remember it should work if you use the US account and can manage to buy the points with US currency(easiest way is to buy a point card online). I have a JP account but I only have downloaded demos, although they do work on my US Xbox.

Assuming the skipped frames are still simulated internally, couldn’t the ā€œ1-frame links become 0-frame linksā€ problem be solved by having a 1 frame input buffer the frame before returning to a neutral state? There wouldn’t be any 1 frame links then. Maybe you don’t want to make combos easier like that though.

If you set Parasouls tear throw as an assist, how far does it go before its set? Does it go all the way to the floor? Immediately released? A set time designated for assist only? Until you release the assist buttons?

the assist only uses the default setup location for the tears (or the wall if it hits that first i guess).

I don’t recall getting an answer to these questions about Ms Fortune in the last general discussion thread. I was kinda hoping the answers would show up on Whiteboard Wednesday. I’ll repost. Them here

-If her head is on one side of the room and her body is on the other, if I feed her head pizza would her body get full? Or would chewed food dribble our her neck hole?

-conceivably, how far apart can her body part be and she still have control of it.

-Also is she immune to infection?

yes.

I have some Q’s!

Any idea how many palettes will be available for each character?
Can we expect palette or stage DLC?
Can we expect ANY DLC, including characters, before Summer?

I would like to know because you have all my money.

How does chip damage work? What types of moves chip, which don’t? Is it a set percentage of damage that is chip or do some moves chip more than others?

Just out of curiosity, what kind of ESRB rating are you expecting?

What are the differences between normal jump and super jump state, other than not being able to call assists in SJ state?

Are there myriad triggers to switch from NJ to SJ state and vice versa like in MvC2?

Will Skullgirls at NYCC have a bunch of amazing news? I need to ready my body.

I’m also curious what they are shooting for, the blood, the panty shots, and cleavage. Could be M.

Mike said it becomes M when you make someone else bleed, not make blood come out of yourself (like MF)

Perhaps, but what about Valentine’s bloody blade. I dunno, the blood, plus the cleavage the panty shots, etc.

The ESRB standards for actual games and promotional materials (unless it’s age-gated) are completely different - it’s a lot stricter for websites if you don’t have an age gate, because a kid could go onto your site and see sexy things from a game they wouldn’t be able to play because they’re too young.

For example…

That’s not the actual Cerebella art - she has a lot more cleavage in reality, but the ESRB flagged it. Rather than zoom in on her head like they did on the MvC3 site, we just edited her dress until it was acceptable. It took three tries.

As far as state goes just calling assists, that’s about it. :^P There are some triggers, but not many. Attacks don’t switch you, like some in MvC2 did.

Chip damage is set per move. Specials/supers chip, normals don’t. Though this is completely up to me so some supers may not in the future, and some normals may, although that was a point of contention in MvC2.

MIKE Z MIKE Z MIKE Z! MIKE Z!

What happened to this move???

I haven’t seen it in any of the match vids. It just disappeared.

Look closer, right after her grab there’s a move that she does where the eye flies off of her arm and sits in the air. Afterwards, it shoots in a direction. Kind of like Dizzy’s swords. Must have just gotten scrapped…

In MvC3, it’s possible to do ā€˜guard break’ setups on incoming characters by making them block a meaty attack and then using certain characters’ anti-air grabs as soon as the blockstun ends. Is Skullgirls going to have any safeguards against this type of setup?

I thought Mike Z once mentioned that that moved got removed because it was useless or never used or something.
