How aggressive is the Brawl community and Melee community are with each other? Is it enough to not support Melee? I remember when this first started the Melee crowd would be pissed at Brawl Donations since that would potentially weaken Melee considerably if they were split
Edit: Smash reaching out to LoL is completely random lol. Alot of the SG VA is involved with LoL. I heard Cristina Vee was gonna do something on this?

Half of the Skullgirls cast are also popular characters in League of Legends, so they’re going to be asking their fans to support us.
Regardless of who this EVO slot goes to, I really think it was the best thing for Skullgirls to do to form a symbiotic (Parasitic, if you want to keep in line with Skullgirls story) relationship with Smash. It feels like people acknowledge that Skullgirls isn’t dead, but I’m not sure how much this will affect playerbase (regardless of Evo or not). It just feels like a really great opportunity for both communities to grow larger, stronger, more respected, and better represented was missed at the hands of a careless, insensitive tweet.
Smash is part of the FGC despite what some on this site may say.

Why are people acting like this tweet burned bridges? I thought it wasn’t a good look given what we had going, but nothing beyond that, and now everyone who didn’t know it was a joke does now. I’m sure the Smash community still knows there’s mutual respect to be found here at the end of the day.

Why would you say that? He’s here to share a token of respect, and frankly, something I can agree with. Considering how much each of our communities have put forth in this donation drive, we have both shown how much we love our games and how far we are willing to go for them.
And frankly, that sort of response is only creating more problems for both.
