I must say I do approve of Poison’s boobie physics in SFxT.
I am very excite.

And not to mention most people thought MVC3 would be all about keepaway lol… and even if it’s a 99% copy of that doji game… to be blunt it doesn’t matter. History is littered with companies having ideas and than someone else (a bigger name) doing nearly exactly the same but actually being successful with it.
I’m only mentioning it being 99% the same because it’s literally 99% the same damn game. Hell, the doji game is better because it doesn’t let you do that double team (2 on 1) nonsense. That wasn’t a good idea in MvC1, why would it be a good idea here?
:looney:
shrug
[S]That sounds terrible.
[/S]You mean guard cancels? Vampire Savior has the same thing, it’s really not that bad, in fact I like GCs.[S]
[/S]
ooo whats up! lol… hey i got our match recorded

good game bro!
I don’t get why people are so excited about not being able to mash dps… it’s not for some smart reason like autoguard being removed, it’s because you get herp derp tight strings without having to know anything about what strings are good to use, and executing them, which DOESN’T GET YOU ANYTHING. All it does it make it safe to do stuff on your opponent’s block, which was always safe to do if you knew what you were doing… and you know what? It still didn’t get you anything in the game. Not chip, not good pressure, nothing. Maybe spacing for some setup but that’s it. To open up your opponent you have to leave holes in your blockstring, so they’re gonna be able to DP you then. You want frame traps and autoguard? Deal with mashed DPs. Nothing is gonna save you but smart play.
What I’m afraid of is this game’s hit confirms being lame, I’m worried it’s gonna be blocked L M H and then since heavy is unsafe, barely, the mixup you get is chain into launcher, or don’t chain into launcher, to punish your opponent trying to punish your heavy, and using that threat to keep your heavy safe, I feel like you’re gonna be “locked” into your opponent’s blockstring more than you are in other games where it feels more like they’re pushing you but there’s no feeling of okay, now I’ve gone into their blockstring, let’s wait for the mixup at the end.
Wait, so how did this go from something Mike Ross was calling the “best ever” (to the point where he was promoting it for free at places like Shadaloo Showdown) to the scrubbiest game ever?
Comparing this game to Ougon makes me wonder if you’ve played either. Nevermind that it’s not a very good insult anyways, since Ougon isn’t a bad game…
Raging at new games is very fashionable at SRK.
I’ve played both extensively, thanks.
I never said Ougon was a bad game either, I simply brought it up in regards to my point of my belief that this game will severely lack much depth / development / end up being just as linear.
Ok first of all this is my last post in this thread cause I honestly feel like this topic is going nowhere.
Now to comment on a few things:
-More4YourBuck there is nothing I hate more than people reiterating bullshit they read somewhere else and acting like they know what they are talking about. You joined SRK in 2010. 2000 Fuckin 10. You never played DarkStalkers, you never played it on a competetive level, so don’t edit copy what someone else said about this game and it’s engine, cause this game IS NOT LIKE DARKSTALKERS. Just cause you can chain? I dunno how many other fighting game EVER MADE can you chain in. Might as well say the game is like BlazBlue. Also don’t talk about the Alpha games like you played them competievely either. Bait an Alpha counter lol it’s not fuckin DP you know. It can be baited but it’s done while blocking a move and if you use it SMART it’s going to be a very powerful tool. Point being don’t act like you know what you are talking about whne you just joined this website a year ago be a little humble and stop acting Elite or OG cause you are not. Don’t make references to games you weren’t around to play as well.
-More4YourBuck to answer your questions about why I think having 1 bar safe DPs as well as 1 bar Alpha counters is scrubby is that the combination of having both of those options for 1 bar is too cheap(as in cost). I come from a bit of different fighting game background than you. In the games I play there is no FADC or X-factor to save your ass from a mistake. When you throw out of a move it is what it is, there isn’t any two ways about it. The fact that safe reversals started showing up since SFIV IMHO is scrubby. In the past reversals in almost all situations were unsafe (unless you had like a V-ism cancel or something). What was even scrubbier is the damage you could get off of one too. Now in this game you take 2 bars for a FADC DP and you make it 1 bar not only that but you give me the option to Alpah counter into a launcher? Not to mention the DP is safe tag in too. The point is the cost is too cheap and you’ll be obtaining these options way too fast. So people will be tossing out safe DPs all over the place which is just scrubby IMHO and a game that promotes it is scrubby.
-Master Chibi I agree KOFXI does have more on it’s bones for sure. That’s actually one of my favorite KOFs so comparing SFxT to that isn’t so bad. Honestly that’s overal what it felt like when I compared it to any other game in the past I’ve played.
-Westlo he’s probably Tag canceling too late on his DPs. I don’t remember who said this if it was Seth or Ono but the speed at which your character comes in varies on how early you press the tag button. I was literally doing DP and imidaitly before the move could even be in motion pressing Tag. Never once did I get punished for this. I was using Ken though, so again like you said, could be because of the extra hits on his DP. I dunno tough to tell with around 15 minutes of actual game time.
-The Ace of Knaves see my comments to More4YourBuck. I’d like to know what Sega Saturn you’re playing DarkStalkers on. Also I wonder if you’ve ever actually played a game on GGPO. Everyone talking about how great GGPO is yet I bet 99% of the scrubs beging for GGPO never have played on it.
-IhateMODOK I don’t give a fuck about what’s popular or trendy on SRK
I came out here and gave my opinion on the game and it is what it is. Arturo probably took a smarter stance than me by saying “I didn’t get enough time to make a real judgement” and he has a point. Until I can actually sit down with this game with some people who don’t suck I don’t really know how good or bad this game truly is.
If this was the old days well they’d release the game in the arcades and you’d go and test it out for awhile and figure it out that way but nah not in this day and age. Capcom want’s you to dive head first in with your $60 and hope the game will turn out good. I honestly don’t think I’m willing to do that. I think at this point I’ll wait and see how this game actually develops and then depending I’ll pick it up a month after release(or wait for Super SFXT). That is unless Lee is in the game which I’m almost 100% sure he is not.
In closing I’m not trying to convince anyone to buy or not buy this game. Make your own judgement though, don’t let someone else make it for you. Don’t let me kill the hype train for you if you really are looking forward to this game.
I think within the first week we will have moved on from attack, tag, attack. Like others have said its what we know right now & things are just starting to flesh out. We can’t expect to do Sagat’s tiger knee cancel corner trap(I know that sounds a little over exaggerated lol) during these incomplete builds.
I play Vampire Savior on GGPO all the time, I’ve been playing for a solid year now.
Ahh I play Vampire Savior tournaments every two weeks as well I’m on GGPO. Been on it since last year…Follow the twitter @SKILLENNIUM. I’m only 22 bro Vsav was out when? yeah I’m sorry I couldn’t play during Daigo’s day, and age along with the 5 golden children of Vasav. Once again my post wasn’t attacking you at all but it seems you too it as that. When I typed out my reply I used the word like as a place holder for similarity. I’m not saying it’s the same thing. I also play Alpha 2 now in tournaments. Learned Akuma. If you play the game you should know you can bait them none the less. No player is perfect. The year I joined this web site has no relevance to my fighting game experience. As well you’re making this seem like I’m being down spoken too. Which I hope not due to the single fact that I’ve been playing fighting games at high level for years. Ask players like Yipes and Kevin Landon. I just got into entering tournaments due to the fact that I have the money , and I’m able to support myself to go. Thank you again for your in put on the game, and let’s hope for the best. Also i hate SSF4 and MVC3 don’t a copy of either.
I love how join dates on a forum dictate what game you play/don’t play.
gg with that logic.
^ With that there is nothing i hate more than when people talk down to others on the internet… pathetic.
Anyways. More4yourbuck how easy was it to switch partners during a combo and is it possible to do bnb’s from sf4 with some of the sf characters?
Last I checked, calling people out based on join dates was an infractable offense.
Now for most of us who don’t have access to a playable build of the game (if only Capcom held Fight Clubs here in Asia), what folks say about the game is all that we can get. Now some time back, when the game was making its rounds in the West Coast (E3, NCR9, SDCC, EVO) general consensus was very positive with apparent positive feedback from most guys who played it at NCR9. As has been mentioned, Mike Ross was even hyping the game up when he was on this side of the world for Shadaloo Showdown. Which is why I’m asking, what changed from then to now that’s getting people to hate on the game, which I believe is a legit question - especially considering that I do get to pass info like this to the folks at Capcom (just ask the guys in the 3rd Strike boad).
I don’t think anything’s changed, I at least still feel the general consensus from people that tried it out is that the game is good.
