SFxT PC Modding Thread - NO PIRACY / DLC CIRCUMVENTION DISCUSSION

I’ll keep replying as long as you do. Not your opinion. You.

Hacking DLC is a completely different element of this and deserves its own topic because the discussion of it completely overrides other modding discussion. Since the first person brought it up, almost all of the replies have been related to it and very few have actually been about actual mods. Furthermore, unlocking locked content is a hack, not a mod. There’s a difference.

Huh, neat. Does that work for all the stages? Because it’d seem to me that if you swapped the music on the Mishima stage for, say, the Pitstop theme, there’d be an issue (because I believe that the Mishima stage has three different themes, one for each round, while Pitstop only has two).

it just loops the 2nd on 3rd round since the game doesnt have the order to start playing 3rd track.
problems may occur if you swap urban war zone since it has only 1 track, so on 2nd round its complete silence and no music is being played.

Well, I’m waiting for the official release as well. I thought that maybe Steam had released it early or something. Forgot that stuff can get leaked very quickly nowadays…

Ah, okay. Let us know if you find out. :smiley:

silence happens, as expected. game cant find the file for 2nd round in package so it plays nothing.

Interesting. So with that, I’m going to take a guess and say that if you swap the urban war zone music out for another song that it’d only play the round 1 theme?

not when the game is 100% complete elsewhere. thats modding it to work properly, not hacking. even though crapcom will be salty forever about it, its 100% ethical and legal. so therefore its a mod.

Man !
@ Hunterk you should have created this thread after May 11 th or even after the release date of dlc for the pc version

I’d rather seeing Terry Bogard trolling joke’s now

I’m messing with you, guy. Just laugh. :stuck_out_tongue:

Hmm… is the music set up differently than it was in AE? I ask because I was honestly very ignorant of how music swapping worked on AE PC, but was interested in doing it. I’d be even more so with SFxT because the music is… “okay” at best with the exception of a few tracks.

No huge deal of course, mostly my curiosity.

Hopefully I can contribute more this go-round (at least a lil’ bit) than I did with AE modding. Or at least spread the good word. :slight_smile:

It also occurs because people can’t afford to buy things.
Why should I go without something when they aren’t getting my money anyway?
But that’s not really the case with this game, for me at least, it’s because Capcom is a scumbag company.

okay, since we cant use our own music, i just swapped the existing tracks around and it worked.
so what i did:
everything is located in …\Street Fighter x Tekken\stream\CMN\battle\sound\bgm
1)make a copy of desired stage theme file. make sure it has enough files in it, urban war zone for example has only 1 theme, and if stage plays 2-3 themes during the fight (pandora’s box for example), then its gonna be silence in the second round. if it has 3 themes and stage only plays 2 its not an issue, game just gonna loop 2nd track.
2)copy filename of the stage bgm you want to replace(its easy to figure out except pitstop, pitstop is bgm_det.awb , det=detroit i guess) and delete its file
3)rename your copy to match stage bgm

for myself i swapped:
antarctica -> tekken jin/xiao theme (file bgm_tkm.awb) [details=Spoiler][/details]
pitstop -> mad gear hideout
jurassic -> mishima estate
pipe -> pandora’s box
urban war zone -> tekken rival theme 2 (file bgm_rtx.awb)[details=Spoiler] [/details]

works like a fucking charm. game feels so much better for me now

the awb file format is the one it uses for music? is there an encoder available for it.I ask because i was thinking of possibly taking the flac redbook audio cd files and making a higher quality awb file if possible.Got the official soundtrack and was curious

This, quite literally, is entitlement. Can you walk into a fast food place, steal fries, and then claim “Well, you weren’t going to get my money anyway.” ? No, you can’t, despite the fact they’ll throw them out if they are left over in the evening. Stealing is stealing and there is no justification for it. If you don’t have the money to pay for something, you should be finding ways to earn money to afford it… Just because you’re broke doesn’t mean you’re suddenly privileged to be able to have things that other people have to pay their hard earned money for and, more over, that you we’re entitled to have something someone else invested their time into making.

Say whatever you want about Capcom and their practices, but at the end of the day they provided a service and a product and its your decision to either buy it for the price they set out or not to. You don’t get to have your cake and eat it too, regardless of the company’s actions there’s no justification for it.

Just like my pink slime / kobe beef example. Justify it however you want, but at the end of the day you’re stealing and there is no positive, rightness to it. Do it if you want, but accept what you’re doing for what it is. We’re not talking about food for a family that can’t afford any, we’re talking about ENTERTAINMENT. You have no entitlement to take a luxury that you have no real need for – there are plenty of free games floating around that you could play instead of stealing ones you should be paying for. If you’re going to go through the hassle of getting it illegally so you can play it, you should be paying for it.

according to xentax forums its yet to be encoded, and its like that for a year and half already, so i wont be counting on it at all.

I don’t get it; what format are YOUR songs in?

its default game music.
i didnt change anything, just duplicated and renamed existing files. i’d rather have same theme playing on different stages than listen to pitstop crap.

so no way to convert the audio cd to ewb, looking at it now anyways and trying to compare the flac files on its vs the awb file equivalent and there doesn’t seen to be much difference in size again not familiar with the awb files first time looking so not sure how big/small they should be versus the redbook’s 800meg
