If people are nice enough to take what they have figured out and present it to me in a clear manner, I have no problem making GUI editors for things, or simple file->xml->file things like im working on now.

Instead of having a bunch of weird hex tutorials for SFxT, lets just make it simple and have tools
Its much easier to make tools if someone has already figured out how to do it by hand.

Can you make a tool like I mentioned a few pages back? A color editor tool which will let you mod the colors with color sliders (and save favorite color schemes) without having to do it manually?

Okay, here’s the deal.

If we ever see any single post relating to piracy, then this thread goes down the crapper. And by that I mean not just locked, but flat out deleted, which means all the hard work put in by some of the good people in this thread goes to waste.

Are alternate costumes (those not even on the PC disc but backported from xbox360) considered piracy? Knowing you can only use them as replacement for the first costumes and your opponents won’t see them online (like mods).

Yes.

Buy those costumes when they come out on the PC. They’re not on disc anyway so there shouldn’t be any of that “disc locked content” argument on this.

If they do, just dont reply at all - this thread is an asset to SRK, heck the original SF4 modding thread brought me to join SRK in the 1st place, and I even made some half decent mods myself in AE thread. The last thing we want is no modding thread.

If you own the game both on XBOX and on PC, then I don’t see any problem with with moving files from a disc that you own to a computer that you also own? But If you download them online then obviously you are taking material that was meant to be paid for.

You can already change colors from the informations in this thread.

example on Ryu:
put matedit and RYU_01_01.obj.emm in the same folder
shift+right click in the folder and chose to open a command window here
in the command window write: matedit export RYU_01_01.obj.emm RYU.txt
it creates RYU.txt
to edit the color of Ryu’s kimono, you have to find the right names (use sf4explorer on the emo to get the names: FFCloth, FBCloth, ware, pants)
in RYU.txt find the names, and look for this 4 parameters:

MatCol0R=
MatCol0G=
MatCol0B=
MatCol0A=

803F is 255
in RGB, red is 255,0,0; green is 0,255,0; blue is 0,0,255 (white: 255,255,255; black: 0,0,0)
to put Ryu’s kimono in red, replace the 4 parameters by:

MatCol0R=803F
MatCol0G=
MatCol0B=
MatCol0A=

to put Ryu’s kimono in green:

MatCol0R=
MatCol0G=803F
MatCol0B=
MatCol0A=

same thing for other colors (more calculations needed as pointed by sloth)

save the txt as RYUmod.txt
open a command window and write: matedit import RYUmod.txt RYU_01_01.obj.emm
replace the original file (make a backup)

Honestly, Yajirobe is the only one I see doing anything in this thread. The rest are just self-admitted pirates begging for someone to craft them an even easier way to unlock the content they don’t own. I don’t know why the mods have been so nice and not just shut this down. It’s most likely because Yajirobe is actually doing some interest work here and finding out useful information that actual contributing modders can put to use, so yeah it would be a shame.

I have some neat stuff I want to release, but I’ve been completely turned off since post #197 and am now looking for a different way to share my mods with people who have purchased the content. It was already incredibly obnoxious to hear the same trash openly talk about being excited to pirate this in the other PC thread, now to actually see that they have and that’s still not good enough they want all the bells and whistles and other peoples hard work for free too. It’s just a sense of entitlement I can’t even begin to understand, but yes, for those that do think that way you can all enjoy a nice frozen dog turd on a stick. =)

While I know my mods will eventually get around on the net, I certainly won’t be freely dropping them here.

Want better looking healthbars that don’t have parkinson’s disease? Want to use my MGS Raiden Nina? Hit me up with a PM and play me a game (or two =D) online and you can reap the benefits of not being a pile of dogshit.
