In all seriousness we could do a point system of some sort. What would the points add up to though? I’m not one to promise prizes unless they can absolutely be delivered.
If we were to do a prize, maybe Microsoft points or PSN credit? Something small and inoffensive and it would be easy to deliver as well.
There doesn’t have to be a point system I was just wondering how this was going to be managed, the “Tournament Series” title implies that there will be a point system like ranbats, but im not the tournament organizer so I wouldn’t know. I doubt they know the ranbat format since the person running the PSN bracket didn’t know what a bracket reset was at Grand Finals.
Alright so lets hash it out then.
- Should we have a point system?
- If there is going to be a point system, how should they be awarded?
- Is there going to be a reward besides bragging rights?
- How should we send the reward if there is going to be one?
I don’t mind prizes, great incentive to get people to play. One thing I would caution though, is overloading ourselves with things to manage especially considering we haven’t even really settled on gems play, now we are allowing teams as well. I think we just need to really figure out what we are actually doing and have it in stone first.
That said, prizes are dope and I approve haha
I agree, take it one step at a time here. Lets get things more relevant to playing organized first before we start worrying about prizes. Who knows maybe someone can email markman and get a mad catz stick as a prize or something once we have this thing organized and successfully running every other week. But we need to increase turnout and show that we should be taken seriously.
Personally I would like to get some of our tournament footage put together into a compilation and then get a front page SRK article. That will probably get some serious promotion out there to show that there is a community supporting the game and that we are doing what we can to keep it alive. Maybe after another couple tournaments we can get our recorded tournament footage together.
The psn org has a way to get his videos on youtube, we just need to figure out getting someone to record the xbl tournament matchs, and then we can upload them like spooky or WNF onto a single youtube account, then maybe compile a bunch and get srk to get us a bit of publicity? we should probably work on this over the next couple tournaments
