SFxT General Discussion Thread rev.B

/charges out to Gamestop again XD

Anyone else have this problem where they compulsively NEED to have all the extra/bonus stuff for certain/any games? As soon as I found out that the SE version of this game was going to exist, I hauled ass to the nearest Gamestop to throw my money at them. Since then, I’ve asked 2 different employees there to verify that yes, I am actually getting all the preorder and SE-related stuff. I know it’s just a game, but I’d like the fullest experience of it, you know?

Is it just me? x.x

Nah don’t get that feeling; I’ll be getting the normal release of this game, and if there’s anything I can get as DLC that I want I’ll get it if I want it.

For collectors some LE’s are indeed more tempting then others. But some times these seem more mandatory then optional. Am shore a fair number of people feel that way. About the SFxT SE given the 36 extra gems that come with it.

Still if you ask me the real issue these days. Is the store specific extras. This marketing trend to try and get you to. Buy a copy of the game from that specific store. Is becoming a some what tiresome trend. But it can be argued that 9 out of 10 times. These very items are available to download a few weeks latter as DLC. Still this is not always the case.

Wonder which store based pre-order gem bonus pack. People will ultimately consider to be the more desirable deal. For those who will decided on. Where to purchase the game. Based on the pre-order pack.

I want to find whatever genius came up with store-specific DLC and [do really mean things]. Repeatedly.

Ugh. I could rant about that for days. And I’m a supporter/sucker for downloadable content.

I hate this term.
Half the stuff in “collector” editions are either locked to a PSN/Live account or are not made well and end up deteriorating in just a few years.
People buy CE’s because they’re hyped up for the game and want some merch, there’s not much else to it.

Cannot argue with that. More so when you consider the disappointment which is. Most “art books” that come with CE’s. They tend to be 10-20 pages and are hardly worth. The paper they are printed on. CE’s that are truly collectable are few and far between.

Very true, even more so when the individual artists (or the company) releases a better artbook themselves a while later.

But to the original question:

Same here. I just get the normal release and get the DLC later usually.

I bought DLC costumes on release previously though, like an idiot, instead of just waiting for the cheaper bundle. I’m waiting this go-round, screw that. :-p

(I say this with conviction now… but I doubt I say this when the game is actually out…)

Well if stuff goes bad, there is always TxSF…

Thanks a lot for posting that. Certainly more eager to see what Namco will do with the SF characters than I am for SF X T (of course I’ll buy both!)
Dat Chun concept art—I’m in love.
I really like to see stuff like that. I hope they nab Soul Caliburs graphics engine from next door. I still think SC4 has the most beautiful graphics in a fighter ever.

Good god you just know the bitching about TxSF is going to be 10x worse than this game. “omg Ryu is not the same”, “omg fireballs suck!!” (no shit).

I think they are trying to figure out how fireballs work… in the tekken engine. They shouldn’t work well in the tekken engine because in their world fireballs are cheating.

If TxSF plays even remotely close to Rival Schools - which is what I’m expecting - I’ll be instantly sold on it.

Also, watch Chun Li look prettier than anything Capcom ever did with her.

Personally I think they should handle fireballs like the Anime and Comics portray them; that being an exhaustive burst of Chi projection.
remember the fight with Ryu and Sagat from the animated film or Ryu and Ken throwing hadoukens at Bison at the end? in the udon comics its like a last resort thing because it takes so much energy.
it could add a more strategic element but as far as setting it up or what not I’ll let game developers figure that out
a big question I’ve been wondering is with SF X T being a tag game in honor of Tekken’s Tag heritage can we expect the a Tag game in Tekken’s verison as well?

Guys come on; TxSF will play like Tekken, and prob. TTT2 or use elements from it.

It’s TTT2 with Street fighter characters in it. Just like SFxT is Vice versa

I agree man. Chun-Li looks fucking adorable. Haven’t seen her look as cute before.

I like how she actually looks like a Chinese woman.
And do you guys think that since in Tekken chars talk native languages, Chun will talk chinese?
That would be mad cool.

Spanish Vega
Russian Zangief
Indian Dhalsim

Would be very neat
And I have said it before. Firebals will probably be used as combo enders or combo extenders.
Like: Launch someone 1,2,2,1,4,d,df,f,2(Hadoken motion in tekken notions)

would be neat, but on tekken games, everyone that doesnt speak japanese, speaks english, just look at miguel, christie & eddie

As of TTT2 everyone speaks his or hers native language

Spoiler

Spanish Miguel:

Portugese Eddy:

German Leo:

French Lili (HNNNNNNNNNNGGG)

in ttt2 most characters speak their native language - christie/eddie - portuguese, lili - french, leo - german, miguel -spanish etc. and some chars were speaking their native language for quite some time already - hwo and baek, wang… maybe someone else i’m forgetting, but you’ve got the point.

argh, ninja’d by Vyomesh.
