SFxT General Discussion Thread rev.B

If it’s like SDCC, they’ll release a cinematic trailer tomorrow if there is one, and then gameplay videos for the new characters the morning the con starts.

well one would only hope~

there isnt a list of all the game mechanics here on SRK is there? i made one on unity…though they never use it…and i update it with every build…so its pretty accurate.
would it be smart to make the same thread here, or i can assume everyone is competent enough to know whats going on now with the game?

I’m praying this weekend’s EB Expo in Australia will have the NYCC build, and not the TGS build.

The best move to tag cancel right now is by far Yoshimitsu’s move where he spins his sword. It sucks the opponent in, puts them in blockstun, lasts a long time, and is safe. Your incoming character has a good opportunity to hit with an overhead or other tricky moves Pretty basic, but I was doing Yoshimitsu sword spin move tag cancel to Kens f+hk overhead and having good results

Self explanatory.

Thursday is mahvel day so…friday right? D:

It could be before then. Keep in mind that Friday is just the panel. That usually has nothing to do with the actual reveals/trailers.

Was kind of hoping for reveals before the show like they did for TGS. Looks like they learned their lesson.

I don’t know why anyone would get salty over the gem system. There’s potential to make the game more interesting and even if it was ass for compeitive play (chances of this being true are high) Capcom would have to be retarded to not include a Standard Versus Mode (No Gems) along with a Special Versus Mode (Gems) like Soul Calibur does with it’s weapons and armors. Same deal with Endless Lobbies…

Gem System can only help the game since it might actually give casuals something to do and could give you some side tournies with gems included if it’s interesting enough. But I’m sure most of SRK will overreact and slam the shit out of it when it gets unveiled at NYCC and pretend the options to not use it will never exist.

Pandora mode seems useless, but I actually like the Gem system. You can play with gems or without gems so in case you don’t like it, what’s the matter? Is as easy as not using gems at all and play in the normal modes. I like the fact they are trying to add new things and making this game more complex and complete. Whether I like the new adds or not, don’t care, at least they tried! they are just adds, you can still play without using them.

I hope they bring back chains xx special

If they don’t then pretty much every trailer before TGS is misleading gameplay and IMO the pre-TGS trailers were the most exciting

No fucking DLC characters.

With mvc3 it was fine because that game is so ass and no one in their right minds would play it.

If Alex or COdy are not in retail they better be fricking DLC. If not I’ll wait for the Super SFxT. If they are still not in after that then fuck it I’ll be balls deep in other games by then and will forget this game existed.

Maybe it’s just me but I doubt there will be a Super SFxT. Or at least not until two years after SFxT drops. I highly doubt they’re going to come out with a Super before TxSF comes out and I don’t think Harada’s even working on that yet.

I think once they announce the gem system i’ll make a thread on it with all the needed information and then a post undernieth it for community questions.

Has Capcom ever **not **released an update to a fighting game within a year after its release? SSF2 was within a few months, SFA2 was under a year, 2I came out like not even half a year after SF3, all of the Marvel crossovers and Darkstalkers games came out back-to-back every 6-7 months… The longest I can think of was the one year between CVS and CVS2. If they don’t make an update to this game, it’ll be the first time they’ve done it in a long time. I don’t think that’s going to happen. Especially not now, when people are actually buying fighting games.

It wouldn’t even be within TxSF’s release window. I’ll bet Super SFxT is out by the time Namco finishes getting TTT2 ready for a console release. It’ll be damn near 2013 before anyone sees TxSF.

I don’t mind two versions of the game as long as they keep most of the old characters.

While you’re completely right with the exception of SF4 -> SSF4 which was 14 months iirc. I believe TTT2 is already out in arcades, so it shouldn’t take more than maybe half a year from now to get it onto consoles.

Assuming I am correct this would put TxSF out around mid 2013 with some luck, which could then get us a Super version of SFxT sometime in 2014. That’s just the way I see it happening. Considering this is a collab between Capcom and Namco I can’t imagine two versions of SFxT coming out before even one version of TxSF does.

lol. DLC characters worked out great for Blazblue and MK9. KoFXIII is getting a couple of DLC characters as well.

Is anybody going to NYCC tomorrow cuz i would like some things tested please.
