The input shortcuts are still in so I’m not surprised so is the reversal window.

The reversal window doesn’t really matter much, considering they aren’t just going to magically mash out of chains as opposed to SF4’s nonstop miss-this-link-and-you-lose combo system. It just makes wakeup reversals easier. Which, if you are sure you actually want to wakeup reversal, is a good thing.

Edit: Also, the bit about not being able to cancel chains into specials was just for the most recent build. Seth said during the Ultimate Norcal vs Capcom stream that they were trying stuff out, and that it’s likely to be put back the way it was.

Let them mash. High damage plus a chain system and no FADC will make them regret doing so.

Since this is a 3D game and they can simply apply the same skeleton to him (just like they do in Tekken) they can simply give Mokujin a random Tekken or SF moveset at the start of each round.

Has it been confirmed yet if backdashes are invincible or not?

I hope he makes it. Mokujin is awesome.

I just read this from Shadowloo’s impressions. Note: Pre-release assumptions below

It’s not really an FADC, blocking an SRK that’s tag cancelled apparently leaves you enough time to do a reversal and hit both characters.

Yea I read that too but I thought he just spaced it wrong. If not, then that’s weird since S-kill kept mentioning its to make unsafe moves safer (Guess not SRK’s? But things like cannon drill from Cammy?) you also build bar crazy fast, so you can keep trying to SRK/tag if it is possible or done early enough. But itll be less annoying due to the magic series I guess. Still Hype though :smiley: (Raven lets go)

I believe it’s so that you can’t just use Tag Cancels mindlessly to make moves safe. Certain moves (Chun’s legs, etc) are bound to be safer than others.

Juri’s Pinwheel (since most believe she’s in) would also make a great tag cancel and will probably be pretty safe as well. I’m trying to think of other safe special cancel’s hmmmm? Maybe Vega’s rolling slash would be good as well ( if he was in) but I can’t think of any good ones right now.

Everyone still has chains. What was taken out was chaining into specials for everyone. You can still chain lights into mediums into heavies.

All of these impressions are making me less hyped for this game.

yeah, certain characters still have that luxury like Abel…he can chain and cancel into special’s still~
can’t wait to see how NYCC turns out~ it’ll be kinda hard to top SDCC…thats were the game was born ;-;
