A few don’t look so healthy, and a few seem to be stronger for no reason.
But it’s always hard to be sure without playing.
Boy, I haven’t been hit by a Hugo combo in so long I almost forgot what the damage was like. That one body splash led to half my life being taken away…with Sagat…
Yes a few don’t look healthy but lets also be honest. Certain characters in this games current version are not healthy either and while only a few are actually strong. The new changes will make MAJORITY of the cast better.
People fail to realize how hard it is to balance a game with a big cast. Everyone can’t be good.
Also, we still have to take into account things such as the roll system being nerfed. Where some characters might have been useless with the roll being taken away, others will thrive now. Some characters will have to be anchors now. SFxT is a thinking game. You have to be smart about your every move (as in any fighting game) but with this game you have to put characters in certain orders. I used to run Sagat/Bison. That was ok, but with Bison on point I can frustrate more and his movement speed creates a lot of problems from the jump. Get a good lead, bring in Sagat for strategic zoning.
Pretty much the game will be ok. We will just play it and see.
That’s what I mean. The game is so different, that’s its just hard to judge.
We have to judge it by the rules we have now and what we think the changes will mean, but without hands on… we can never be sure.
Why can’t I just download one DLC character? I went on to get the one character I want and I don’t have that option wtf?
True indeed, you both bring up good points - which is why I’m still at wait and see. When the first list of changes came out, I was all up in arms… after the rest came out, I’m actually pretty excited for a lot of it, and it’s hard for me to suggest what should or should’t be changed without hands-on experience.
I know a lot of people are angry about the roll nerf and I’ve always been yay/nay on it, but I’m pretty intrigued by what it will bring too. Hopefully not a “vortex” game, or at least not to the extent of “get knocked down, GG”… but there’s probably some devilish stups that can be done with it.
Worst case scenario of course, shit hits the fan and we go apeshit until Capcom “fixes” it again… par for the course. :-p

What is needed to get the crown in ranked? Is the requirement called “absurd amount of BP?” In the PC, the one who got the crown is this guy:

Tonight was a good night to play online. I only played a few matches but they were against some fellow A players. There was some lag but not enough to prevent me from whooping on some fools. Lili POWA! Oh and some ken st.mp. People run into that and i can’t help but laugh a bit. =D

Gratz on the crown, I’ll never get mine because my BP keeps getting rolled back to 21.7k everytime I even think of doing ranked. Oh well I’ll just have to be satisfied with A+, I don’t have the patience to deal with the constant rollbacks.
Probably not gonna farm up a crown anytime soon. I will work on it for 2013.
