There’s nothing wrong with ranting if both your team members got balanced by Event Hubs commenters. I was super pissed but I’ve chilled now. Especially considering they’ve fixed a character I dropped because of annoyances. People complaining about the complainers got buffs and were Ryu haters, clearly.
I’m overall satisfied with the changes. Not perfect, but a step in the right direction and closer to having a higher portion of the cast be more viable opposed to it’s current version. I feel sympathy for those who got unjustified nerfs (poor Bryan) but as a whole, the game seems to have it’s playstyle intention to be much clearer. New players won’t struggle as much to learn that rolling constantly, dp tag on block and mash jab are bad habits to fall into and competition in general will be of a much higher caliber in 2013’s first quarter.
Interested to try out a couple of characters I was too hesitant with in SFxT’s current state (Lars, Yoshi, Lili, Jin.) And Lei just secured his place for good as my main.
Lei’s buffs outweigh his nerfs, I’m happy his stances will be more accessible, might prompt people to use him more.
And Yung Ice, I don’t think the overhead combo with Lei will be altered, since I think his drunken mp x2 counts as a target combo. And with the kick of his drunken overhead combo hitting low, tag in’s off a blocked staggering slide will be stronger 50/50’s. And since drunken mp is a long reach, and rolls are getting nerfed… You see where I’m going with this. =D Apart from that I can’t see anything that would make drunken worse, if I’ve missed something please point it out.
Tiger stance is buffed. MUAHAHAHHAHAHA. …I mean… NO. TIGER IS BAD, EVERYTHING IS UNSAFE ON BLOCK, EVERYONE CAN JUST JAB SAFELY VS TIGER STANCE.

I just have this small feeling that I am going to be running Akuma + some random female character on my team the moment this patch drops.
A lot of the swag and the dirty mix-ups and stuff seem to come from those lot as well as DAMAGE!
But don’t get me wrong there is Kazuya, who still is a solid point character. If only if I could EWGF as well as Chaos.
The trouble that I have is cancelling into the EWGFs from normals just because I’m used to doing them stand alone in Tekken (plus the other 3-4 odd ways of doing it.)
EDIT: Although the only problem with running the whole Akuma + Female Character is that i am susceptible to those who think that their E-Dicks are massive by constantly making crude and un-funny jokes about them. Which makes me want to really show no mercy towards them when we fight.

If Dawgtanian do stop by, here are my main thoughts:
Love the work Capcom is doing! By the depth of their changes you know they are really trying to make things right!
Alpha counter tag cancel combo gone: I don’t like this, as Alpha counters can’t kill. Maybe a juggle nerf post alpha counter switch would be more fair.
Rolls having last 7 frames vulnerable might be alright, but I’ll have to experience it in game play to make up my mind.
Characters:
Dhalsim- I know he was too strong, but I would like to keep flame advantage on block. The change won’t nerf his defence game, only his offence game, and I thought that was what Capcom tried to promote in the first place.
Vega- Give Tatsu his 2 frame lp back and nerf the hitbox slightly in stead. A character shouldn’t be forced to do unplinkable one frame links to confirm in a game like this IMO
Hugo: You should leave his c.lk alone as it’s his most valuable normal, and with his other nerfs, I am not even sure if he will be viable.
One of the choices is “Why is Cross Tekken here?”

Some of the entries consist of Final Fantasy X, League of Legends, Pokemon Stadium, Guild Wars 2, Team Fortress 2. Are they sure they’re visiting the EVO Facebook page and not MLG’s?
Yeah, I can see why they thought it was kind of unfair that some characters couldn’t get a combo after a switch. But my solution to that was fairly simple: Characters who can combo after a switch get 120 damage from a cross-cancel and characters who can’t combo get 240. Problem solved! This way they both got an advantage (to do more for 2 bars or more for 1 bar).
But whatever, I don’t even mind that they nerfed the cross-cancel combo. Especially considering the system changes, getting 300-400 from bocking safe jumps seems a little too good to me. Especially considering that rolls are punishable now (so alpha counter = even scarier because they will lead to dangerous oki).
I agree about Vega. Unplinkable 1 frame links are stupid and they should not exist in any game. I can kinda understand why Capcom did that nerf though. Because they nerfed every ABC chain, especially on the SF side. So in 2013 Vega will be one of the rare characters still able to “safely” hit confirm from that range. So by making it a 1 frame link they add that risk/reward but it’s just too much. It would’ve been better I think to just nerf the normal to be like +0 or -1 on block instead of +2 and make it a 2 frame link. Something like that…
… Man, this game is gonna have SOOOO many vortex’s… I might have found one with Bob already if rolls are punishable @_@

The more I think about it, the happier I am with the AC nerf. The whole reason they’re nerfing DP > tag cancel is because people shouldn’t be afraid of randomly losing half their life when they stick out a jab. The same with guard cancel. The changes are all about risk/reward. If people want big damage, they should get it by setting it up properly…not by waiting for the opponent to touch them.
