Capcom is going to make a lot of GAINZZZ with this new patch.
I’m looking forward to it, the game has much potential if it is fixed right. Julia Chan for the win!!!
The main thing I want in the SFxT 2013 patch is faster gameplay overall. Some characters got faster walk-speeds so I am optimistic.
I very much enjoy getting rid of the ridiculous jab pressure. The fact that characters can just press standing jab over and over again was extremely frustrating. Another great change is the health regeneration; this was a fair and fantastic change for those of us who hate how prevalent time-outs were. My team of Ken/Steve is still in great shape and I don’t plan to change although I might start playing a grappler now. I just hope that they keep listening to the community and continue changing things that we ask them to.
Another good change is the roll change. Unblockables were the reason that I stopped playing Street Fighter 4, and rolls (hopefully) will prevent that in sfxt. Although rolls are suited for a game like UMVC3, they are not for more “calmer” games. That’s why I think this is an ideal comprise: rolls are punishable but can be used to avoid certain vortexes. Overall, maybe I’ll try and get my ps3 copy from collecting more dust because this patch does seem to make it a better experience for myself.
I ran Guile/Vega during vanilla and I felt comfortable with them, they were not bad together but they where not great either. They had poor damage output but they can keep the pressure going with zoning. Guile was on point followed by vega who was my strongest; used guile to test my opponent’s defense and reactions to things. Guile also builds the meter for my team so vega can come in and do some damage. I also messed with Asuka, cammy,Hwo, and king
Im really liking the changes to my characters execpt for guile :(…900 health?, normals doing less damage?, hitbox changes? But any great player will adapt and adjust instead of critsize and complain
People should play what the like and not what everyone is playing at the time; if every player flocked to the most popular games alot of compaines would be out of business. Do I stop playing SFXT because no one else in my state will? I keep moving forward
There is a chance to make history at Final Round 2013 as I want to organize to tournament for it. Alot of states and players do not respect the game but you know what they say “respect isnt given, it is earned”
Its time to do battle gentlemen…

The game will definitely be more playable after the patch. Sweet.
I’m someone that actually enjoyed sfxt. But I also admit it had its faults. Footsies were too generic with the chains, and a lot were unpunishable. yet they all lead to similar damage. Stuff was too safe overall. Supers took way too much time. regen was too fast, so players had way too much life for a 99second clock. The forward roll wasn’t perfect, it had the right idea, but not executed 100%. The throw system was a little too weak with the range being short, plus overall slower walk speed with a lot of the cast, and 7 frame startup. Tick throws lose too much to random button presses, and overall, a really crucial element for the sf cast that dont have crazy high/low games, unlike tekken characters, to open the opponent up.
its pretty awesome that capcom is actually fixing all these areas in some way. throws being improved to 5f, along with faster walk speeds for some characters to help that area out. throws not too fast to where the throw game is silly.
regen got slowed down, giving players less overall health, meaning the clock is not as much of a factor.
super animations drastically sped up, which leads to another clock fix, and speeds the flow of the game.
chains(boost combos) are more unsafe, so even far chain pokes can be punished with more than a 2 frame, far reaching super(huge problem in sfxt), which means you have to work a little harder for your damage.
forward rolls sound much better.
less safe moves, which means less braindead pokes that loop into itself(ryu fierce joudan kick, into s.jab). Now you have to actually pay attention and hit confirm before you cancel into that unsafe special.
so far, a lot of the balance changes sound for a much better game. crappy characters like paul and yoshi sound great. while characters like raven, ryu, etc, while still strong, dont have braindead stuff.
I know the vanilla sfxt got a lot of hate, some of it justified. I also know this version will be respectable. I hope people can look at this game with an open mind. Just remember that classics like 3s, a2/a3, cvs2, all stemmed from truly horrible games(sf3:ng, a1, cvs1). If those games can blossom into classics and given the proper chance, than theres no reason that sfxt can’t do the same thing.
January can’t come soon enough
One of the biggest issues with the initial game, as many others have pointed out, was how poorly the damage output was set up. Using 2 AE lifebars with regeneration just made matches interminable and awful. I’m hopeful the new patch will work things out with that major hurdle past.
I did not read any of the changes.
I thought vanilla SFxT was fine, game was underrated and underplayed because it got a bad rep.
I hope this new version gets more acceptance, because so far, i like it much better than SF4
I’m looking forward to the new balance patch. People can now start playing this competively like it was meant to. The time outs and infinites was the only thing that ever bothered me in this game. Character changes also brings a new aspect back into the game which will make me replay and relearn my characters that i love all over again.
I’ve been playing sfxt for quite some time. Recently I spoke with Dieminion and Pr Rog at nec who both enjoyed the pace of the game and how it is now. It gives me hope because i currently play the game and only with a handful of people. I travel to play a game even though it is not the most popular game at these events. I hope when the patch drops more people will want to play because of how fun the game is and how it can reunite the rather divided fgc. I feel this game has a bit of sf4 and a bit of marvel and could be something great come january of next week. I would love to receive a copy of sfxt for ps vita so i can play sfxt 2013 on the go because i really enjoy this game. My biggest change I’m waiting for is to see my favorite character Lili get only better with her ex angel knee and f.lk that forces a stand on hit. I can’t wait to play the version with a whole bunch of new people and hey, it wouldn’t be so bad to do it on the go.
I continue to play theory fighter in my head about this patch. I’m already developing new tricks, and in some cases new combos for my boy Hwoa. Seriously can’t wait for the patch!
Street Fighter X Tekken stands as an extremely polarizing game because of some of the balance issues and design choices that did not quite resonate with fighting game fans. Because of this, hype died down and expectations aren’t too high for SF X T updates anymore. However, with the 2013 update, I foresee wonderful things for this amazing game. SF X T has provided countless hours of fun with friends with it’s addictive gameplay on my PS3, and things are only going to get better with this update. Less timeouts, character balances, and more, plus the addition of the 12 DLC characters for the Vita will make it the ideal version to have, and hopefully you see how bad I want it and how grateful I would be to have it. Thank you so much for your time!
The balance patch shows me that Capcom is still doing their job in keeping this great game alive. I’m very satisfied with a lot of things coming through this patch, such as the toning down the visual effects of the gem’s activation. I’m pretty interested in testing out the tweaks to characters’ move sets and hit boxes; then I could really work on a main team for play, which I still don’t have.
I am hoping that the combo system will be more fluid now that launchers are practically instant. Although I have enjoyed the game since launch, I will always welcome more changes to keep things fresh. No matter the nerfs or buffs, I will keep my character loyalty and play for the fun, win or lose.
Wooo! im excited for the patch. Hopefully it’ll fix a few annoying things ive noticed here and there. had no major issues with it so far just minor annoyances. but then again people will always find things to complain about even after the patch is out. Oh Well , at least theyre actually patching it.
Looking forward to the patch, now it looks more balanced and better for competitive play
I’m definitely looking forward to this update, everything that I have seen so far has made me want to play this game even more.
This is great! Blanka gets a buff finally. His combos are more limited then a dog with a 1 ft leash and his xball attacks are decent.
