The thing is, based on what I’ve heard, they were trying to avoid what they did last gen, which was over-produce the sticks, which led to them having tons of excess stock - which is why we got so many discounts.
The problem with this is that they needed to raise their prices to compensate for the all the R&D and tooling and dye for the TE2.
I meant like the final nail in the coffin. I never said it was the sole reason. Relax George.
They really did drop the ball at one point. I was trying to get that new TE2 stick but they never had any stock and Ebay at them going for $300.
I was like fuck that. I ended up getting a Hori Rap4 for $150.
I really hope their new SFV stick and pads sell well. Im actually thinking of getting their pad for my laptop.
Yeah the fightpad pro looks really good and I only ever bothered with buying one of their sticks when I found a cheap deal for 90€ on Ebay for a brand new Soul Edition TE2 (never regret making this purchase even though stick is not for me) because fuck off with 200-300€ gaming controllers.
On topic though:
Really good move for the community as a whole, though even if they didn’t people would’ve probably just played on the DS4 which is perfectly fine for SFV.
I did a lot of soul searching and, while this is great news, I’m still going to sell my TE-S. I’m stoked about the new TE2+, and kind of figure the future games are going to use the touchpad more and more. This is great news for a lot of people, but doesn’t have me cancelling my preorder.
I managed to get a PS3 SFxT fightstick pro from a mom and pop shop for 55 bucks, and they had a KI fightstick for about 70. Dude, it like tripping and finding a gold mine. I still plan to purchase a TE2+ in the future, I’m stoked to just use the stick I got. The 16th can’t come fast enough!
I do have ultra, it works to perfection. I already drop a seimitsu ls-56 stick with a short throw mod into it and plan on getting gamerfinger buttons to replace the old ones.
