We must be talking about something else because when Capcom Unity showed her VT2 people lost their shit because they didn’t realize how much shit she got. In the Kolin discord before those guys knew what it did many felt like Capcom butchered her and were thinking of dropping her.
When Capcom talked about her VT2 in the VT2 Unity post it was just a short version of what it was capable of.
It’s funny that Capcom seems to be jumping from place to place with Ken. It’s like they know they want to keep his limbs stubby and frame data shitty, so they gotta find something, anything, exceptional to keep him competitive.
In S1 it was the combination of exceptionally short hit stop + 4 frame bMP + unanti airable air tatsu. Being minus half the time was ok since the shorter hit stop meant people didn’t even realize they were plus.
S2 they took that all away but tried to compensate with the corner throw loop and an overhead combo starter. Poor compensation. Ken is regarded as so bad that Momochi changed main.
Now with s3.5 they’ve given him something exceptional again with the shorter pushback on c.LP. With it, Ken can now play SF4 with stuff like c.LP x2 (if hit) s.LKxx 3 hit HP SRK (if block) c.MP xx Hadouken.
Whether the new c.LP pushes Ken into major winning viability remains to be seen. I ain’t complaining, it’s a really good buff, but it’s just so funny that Capcom has ended up giving Ken something that goes against the basic design principles of SFV rather than say a +3 on block normal or a better c.mk.
I wouldn’t bother with Ken in this game considering the other options, but at least he has a strong forward walk now to go with his offense and counter poking. 5.0 forward is good for his play style considering he already has one of the better back walks and a decent CC game.
Still it was only a second V-Trigger. Even if Trigger II would have turned out to be bad one could always just have used Trigger I which is a very solid Trigger all things considered.
The only nerf in that list was the V-Skill change. Never understood why anyone would think she’d be worse off in S3 when that’s the only move that got worse.
I learned all the advance stuff from 3s that i carried with me to other fighting games and even the bad habits like crouching too much since All the good characters could convert from it or not teching throws lol
I am starting to miss my old husbando.
Sakura is fun, cute, pretty and energetic, but I do miss planting people on the ground with SPDs.
And most important of all, I miss the beard and the chest hair.
But I will give my new waifu a bit longer before I admit that this was a mistake and beg for him to take me back.
Do you see any facial hair there?
Any chest hair?
Nope. I am better off with Sakura in this case!
Besides, with that firefighter costume, it is clear that he works night shifts as a stripper. I don’t want to dispute his attention with lots of women and gay men who are justifiedly throwing money at him.
