I said ā€œtake risks to winā€ not ā€œnever deal with mixupsā€

Theres a difference.

1 means you are off smelling the roses in a ā€œgoodā€ position, yet still need to get in and take a fairly substantial risk, in order to play for the win.

The other means you messed up (perhaps doing things that are generally safe) and have to suffer those consequences by being subjected to a blocking mixup.

The thing about ST is that outside vega/gat/simā€¦ you generally have to make a mistake to get fucked up. And the ā€œmistakesā€ are pretty easy to avoid, its up to the other player to force mistakes out of you, meaning its not the game you are playing against, its the people. ST isnt called ā€œvega sagat sim VS the worldā€

Closest you really get to being forced to make mistakes in ST is sticking out your cr.mk or throwing a fireballā€¦ but neithrr of those is really a mistake, both are super safe and the opponent has to generally eithrr be great or highly reactive, or have a crazy good read to beat either one of them.

In sf5 you are forced to jump, forced to stagger, forced to frame trap, forced to pressure oki in unsafe ways, forced to use confirms that are negative or punishable on block, forced to go in, forced to throw from situations of low or no frame advantage.

Dont do any of these things as a rule or strategy in sf5, your game suffers horribly. I can beat people in ST with nothing but cr.mk, fireball and anti airs, plus some good spacing. Literally no risk at all save for getting outplayed.

Why u ducking bro? Money match FT5 at eSports arena bro

Ibuki shit that shoud prolly change

st.hk whiff recovery frames
v-skill hurtbox pullback
quickrise animation looking identical to backrise(I love near-RNG guessing for her wake-up)

Though about playing Ken/Juri for a split second with the new outfit

Then I figured that Juri still doesnā€™t fight Guile very well and decided to stick with Ken/Menat

Itā€™s not called that, but thatā€™s pretty close to where it is. Big tournaments for the game like at Evo always had one of those 3 characters winning. Maybe occasionally a Chun Li or something once in a blue moon. Even more recent stuff. If you watch Gamespot arcade sessions in Japan, other people will win here or there and then as soon as Mao gets on the sticks he goes on 15 20 to 25 win streaks with Claw before someone gets him off.

There is a bit more of a lower tier meta and some of them can fight the top tiers, but Rog, Sim, Claw with some O.Gat is a majority of what the game really is at top level and they usually force cheap scenarios that you canā€™t really avoid. Youā€™re going to eventually have to jump to try to anti air a Claw and if you jump bad and he grabs you out of the air, time to die.

To me itā€™s really more character to character and player to player how much youā€™re taking a risk in any SF or fighting game. Itā€™s not really these games are way more random or risky than the other. The top players win by making better decisions and staying in the best positions they can regardless of the game.

Like if you want an ST little to no risk character in neutral you definitely have Menat. Guile comes pretty close considering how most anti projectile options suck vs booms any way. Other characters generally have to play closer in and riskier, but thereā€™s only so much that you can call risky about playing top tiers like Cammy and Ibuki also. The top players of those characters have less risky neutral decisions to make than the less characters and are making better choices as top players any way.

I never feel like Iā€™m risking anything playing Ibuki because everything is safe on block or plus any way and VTC = free mix up/pressure. The people Iā€™m playing against Iā€™m sure feel risk, but not me. In matchups that are good for Falke like vs Cammy or Karin same thing. I can win with 3 or 4 buttons and eventual VTC activation. Bisonā€™s gameplay unless heā€™s knocked down is inherently non risky and if you get someone with Problem Xā€™s reactions behind him even less risky

Nothing like some good old Gief robbery to make me feel better on a Friday night.

stop being such whiny fucking cunts all the time both of you

@Akhos

@TWINBLADES

EDIT**

Not done cause you guys are so fucking soy you need a shakedown before I slap you both across the cheek. Constantly focusing on when you lose n shit rather than when you win and if you ever win you always like ā€œOh well he was just really bad but it donā€™t make me good.ā€

Stfu just feel yourself a little holy shit. Just be like yeah I just popped the fuck off.

Yeah Iā€™m talking about wake up, not neutral. People do the weirdest shit on wake up.

Also yeah akhos the players are playing random aggression because itā€™s by far the best tactic.

Itā€™s actually one of my slight weaknesses as a player. My brain finds it hard to contemplate doing 6 counters to a thing then that person still doing it because they know if they get the corner itā€™s probably over.

Iā€™ve stopped with the self-bashing already

As for the restā€¦nah. Itā€™s not who I am. I donā€™t enjoy bragging about winning, popping off, trash talking, or any of that stuff. I prefer looking at what went wrong, what went right/where I am now, and moving on to the next match.

Too many players far superior to me to start ā€œfeeling myself.ā€ Want to look at the next step on the ladder there instead.

:v be cocky but do it in a fun way so you donā€™t look like an egomaniac is real fun is real good

On a serious topic, wanted to discuss S4 changes for two of fav characters Juri and Cody. This is a copy/paste from a notepad I wrote quite a while back for Cody. I just want to talk realistic changes that iron out issues with the characters rather than wishlist stuff. The Juri changes are things Iā€™ve been slowly adjusting my opinion of throughout the seasons, primarily around her LK.Release.

Cody -
Tornado Sweep recovery reduced by 2f(48 > 46)
Tornado Sweep improved from -7 oB to -5 oB
LP Tornado Sweep projectile speed decreased
HP Tornado Sweep projectile speed increased
LK/MK/HK Ruffian Kick travel distance increased
st.mp first hitbox increased/adjusted to better match later hitboxes(combo inconsistencies)
st.lk first hitbox increased/adjusted to better match later hitboxes(combo inconsistencies)
st.mk pushback on hit/block decreased
st.lk 1f speed increase 5f > 4f
cr.mp given 1 more active frame for 4f active overall
VT1 normals adjusted to be more in line with original speeds
VT1 cr.mp given cancel property
VT1 knife throw damage increased by 10
VT1 knife rekka damage increased by 20

Juri -
LK/MK/HK store hitbox range increased
LK.Release buffed to +2/+4
MK.Release damage improved by 20
HK.Release damage improved by 10
St.mp pushback decreased
VT1 normal cancel VT bar consumption reduced by 10%
VT1 fireball no longer knocks down
LP.DP damage improved by 10
MP.DP collision box expanded in width so that Juri will no longer go under opponents at certain AA angles
HP.DP initial hitbox expanded for consistency within combos
LK/MK.Flipkicks opponent time to ground increased for improved oki options

They probably would, which is exactly why I would never ask. I ainā€™t ever wanna be a darksyde phil.

The best part will always be how James Chen, eternal Cammy main, bitches and moans about how random cammy is and how ā€œit takes all the skill away from the fightā€

Guess Iā€™ll go for ā€œmost skintight spandex on the coldest of wintersā€ as most likely explanation.

Is st.mk akumas best punisher starter?

Naw nigga Iā€™m gonna bitch moan and complain. No self respecting human would try this hard to be good at the video game unless they were fucked in the head. I wanna be fucking Daigo level and until I can 10-0 Pookie consistently and actually know how not to get CH off a stray jab Iā€™m gonna bitch and moan and groan till Iā€™m in the dirt.

Fuck this fucking genre I hate how it has all those cool characters I wanna be badass with and Iā€™m too much of a brainlet to even do the punchy punch move correctly.

Iā€™m the worst player here.

You should definitely work for Capcom. Thatā€™s a Capcom list if ever I seen it.

My list would be like 4-5 things each character - max.
