SFV Lounge: Revealed DEEZ NUTZ! They don't reveal $H1T. Momochi plz wakeup super

I mean he literally said it’s because he doesn’t have a block function in the post can you read?

Or peeps shitting on MvC3.

If that’s really how the system works then hey do your thing. But I still think the rules themselves are failing us if we cannot address people who by their only admission exist to troll people here.

Which is not a dig at you, but take it how you will.

Also I still don’t see what another forums lack of voting function has to do with us? If we as a society only did thing the way other people did then progress would never be made on anything.

Hi guys, I don’t post much here on the forum, but just dropping by to wish you guys a happy day full of joy.

Yes, and now everyone here just hates on my beloved Smash instead :frowning:

If you think Cipher only trolls, you don’t read his posts enough. He adds enough discussion to not be full Po level troll.

I told you to read the rules and whenever you do read them, you’re most likely not going to find anything worth banning him on.

You can dig, not dig, kinda dig, the rules are final, take a breath, keep on posting if you can do it.

And with good reason. :eyes::eyes::eyes:

I didn’t ask you to ban Cipher. I said he does not belong here (the SF5 thread/forum) for reasons laid out already by others which is my personal opinion. I am not one to take away others rights. I am also not one to tell you or others how to do your job, but something as simple as ensuring people stay relatively on topic would be a step in the right direction. It is also the responsible thing to do for any moderator in any forum.

I follow and post in this forum because I love Street Fighter 5. I post here to talk about Street Figher 5 the game, and I post in the lore thread to talk about the lore. I don’t like Tekken so I don’t get involved there. Implying that I should contain myself to the story thread because YOU, a moderator, do not want to tell Cipher to quit his persistent bullshit is surprising to say the least, and not very assuring of your judgment. Bringing up 2004 is superfluous. It’s 2019, everything’s changed, and I personally have changed.

Since you do not want to take on the responsibility of really regulating the content here, the ideal solution is to escalate this to your superiors so that they find a way to give us back control over our user experience (i.e. give me and others the choice to ignore users’ posts again) so that we regulate it ourselves. And if they can’t/won’t, well then we have our answer.

You are the missing the point if you think my protest is about Cipher. He is merely a symptom of a larger problem which is the version of Discourse we are operating in that has devolved the daily experience to what it is now. This of course is in no way helped by the moderatorship’s negligence to be honest as we rely on you now completely to keep things tight and on topic in this discourse.

I don’t think that, I’m just quoting the man himself. He brings up decent discussion sometimes even if the package is less than desirable.

Also you can’t get rid of me that easily SRK is home.

My response is going to sound mean, so I apologize in advance.

Rules are the distillation of critical thought. They are a standard, a subjective standard is, by definition, an oxymoron.

You haven’t really put alot of that same “critical thought” into your comments. You haven’t really proposed any change or course of action, and mostly just said you don’t like the current rule. This is fine, but without proposing a change its really just whining.

You sort of suggest a “vote/ban” system. Okay, there’s nothing wrong with that, but how would you implement it? What percentage of votes would be needed? 51%? How would you collect votes? What would be the minimum needed (You can’t do this and then ban someone based on 3 votes)?

To summarize, your position of a “whatever we need to achieve my current desire” is exactly the substitution of critical thought that you claim to be opposed to.

Like I said, no way to phrase that without sounding mean, so again, I apologize.

I know why he is asking for it because he can’t block him permanently, but he is still asking.

So since he is making some demands and pointing out issues, then you better come in here with solutions. That means that the people who want Cipher banned better work out the why of it and the how is it going to be enforced in the future. Then they have to explain how its different from shit other people have done that’s on similar levels of egregious.

If you don’t like Discourse you don’t like Discourse. I can’t help that. Some people posting here now have had to fight to figure out that they can somehow post here in its long page format without pulling their hair out and I commend them for that.

If you have somewhere else you need to go, you’re going to have to go there. It’s been real if you’re going, but Discourse is what it is and we have to work with that.

There’s SRK 2 and there’s Discord.

solution is him asking for user control to ignore him. Like, did you read the fucking post?

Shit, now I want my own personal robot to put a chair like that.

I don’t care if anyone here is mean to me. I get verbally abused (in jest) at work and do the same to my coworkers. I’m a big boy.

Also it seems to be missed but I said that I was only asking so i could understand the thought process. I’ve said a couple times now that i was cool with him, but even he himself seems to be ignoring that fact. But in short I like asking questions.

Its what @Pertho has said. You need to define what the offense is. “I don’t like the thing” is tough, because even then you have to define the thing.
