Yeah, I had G pegged on a top 8 on the long run. He has enough scumbag stuff that you can hit people with 3 new mix ups a match all the way through a tournament. His footsies are also pretty damn great. Just inordinately dangerous light buttons.

I think Gustavo has the spacing game and the jab buffers like you mentioned to make his defensive weaknesses a bit less of an issue. I think there’s a point where people will figure out and the no defensive options thing is going to make G crumble again, but it’s obvious that if the spacing is right he can get it done.
Either way I can still give you crap because you didn’t believe in the President when it counted.

He still has frame one armor EX bullhorn so not quite as good. Plus regular bullhorn still has some some pseudo defensive options that are better than anything G can do. G is all about praying the jab buffer hits pretty much.
Birdie being able to lay trash on the ground gives him a layer of neutral defense that G doesn’t really have either.
