Twinblades, inside the mind of a capcuck shill.
Cipher, inside the mind of a coward who still can’t respond to me.
Agreed. No one wants to see Idom and Toi use Birdie. That shit was lame as fuck.
The point is I’m not thinking on SF6 atm, but I don’t see anything relevant upcoming outside of it tbh. A possible SSFV would have the same flavor of USF4 back then, a refined update before a farewell tour like D-Wade did in the NBA this year. I’m already disappointed, but mostly confused about Capcom moves for the future.
Makoto irrelevant confirmed.
Honda more irrelevant confirmed.
I doubt they’ll shoot themselves and deal with marvel again but deep down I’m thinking "do it again just get it right this time. And even though it’s the end of the gen Cerny confirmed ps5 will be ps4 backwards compatible so it’d be something till they were ready to get back into SF.
It’s difficult to keep a fighting game relevant without adding new mechanics or at least more constant balance updates in order to change the meta.As it is now,it becomes stale fast.
New characters are cool, i guess. But very few will drop their mains for a new character ( unless it’s your former main ).
Capcom’s move in the future ? Who knows really. Probably add few new characters and close it out with a “final” version of SFV that will include most if not all characters.
Naturally, i want SF6 to come rather soon after SFV ends but i have my doubts.Their fighting games have been average at best lately.
SfxT , Infinite and SFV all average, while their other genres have been quite successful.I can see them taking a break from fighting games a while , unless they really want to push the whole pro tour scene very far and keep the momentum built from SFV’s pro tour scene.
So that’s where Cipher went
I’m not from Murica though
You still could’ve picked an American flag
To be fair that’s kinda true in SFV’s case, but only 'cause of how shallow it is
Compare it to other genres that keep getting content like a MMO for example.
You get new zones / quests etc.Fighting games are more difficult to keep relevant.
Sure, you can argue every fight is different but all in all you pretty much do the same thing.Game needs new toys to mess around with, new CA’s ,vskills etc.It would keep the game more fresh.
People said they don’t want new CAs because the CAs are mainly just generic invincible reversal with big damage dump. Can’t really vary that much.
Second V Skills are the rumor.
Capcom is basically doing what Skort is saying with SFV, their issue is just they have never had a consistent plan for the content so it becomes way more out of place for people than it would be for like LoL or Overwatch. More closer to horror stories from Blizzard.
You got characters like Ibuki, Akuma, Bison and Birdie who have all of these tools and they ALSO have stoopid damage potential on top of all the stuff they get. I don’t understand that. If Bison is supposed to be oppressive, keeping you locked down and chipping away at you, why does he also kill you in 3 touches?
There’s multiple games where Bison has been able to kill you if he breathes on you.
The games where he can’t do that (Alphas/SFIV) are the weird games.
That was the topic that spawned multiple replies some pages way back.
Bison is pretty “dumb” because you have a character with low commitment but with high reward.A combo that should not really exist imo.
I actually have nationality pride.
So no I could have not and I would have not.
I just don’t think it makes much sense within the context of how he’s built in this game. It’s not like he has big trouble getting in? It’s not like he has big trouble keeping pressure on you? It’s not like he’s lacking defensively, or at least not any more than most? So why is his damage also so high?
A lot of the cases where characters are strong in this game is just because the scale is so heavily tipped in their favour when there’s just not much design purpose for it. Should Seth have had 1100 life and dealt Evil Ryu damage in USF4?
And I’m not just talking about Bison, I’m also talking about Birdie, Akuma etc., they’re strong characters fundamentally, why do they also lean on the heavier side of damage output?
It makes sense to deal big damage when your guessing game is weighted on getting in in the first place, doesn’t make much sense when you really don’t have difficulty both getting in and staying in, or in Birdie’s case are such a strong zoner who also has strong in-close pressure.
