Certain games don’t cancel out opposite directions when they’re being held because they don’t have to. So if you have a hitbox, you can hold left and right simultaneously which lets you hold back, throw a sonic boom by hitting forward but still hold back to charge while throwing the boom.
Basically this issue. PCBs from the actual Hitbox make it so that you if hold to opposite directions it goes to neutral. So the brand stuff is fine. But if you make your own, it can create issues. It also lets you do other weird funky inputs for some games.

I think they may have been “too smart”. The banned specific PCBs which allows legit hitboxes to still be okay.
This sounds great but… how do you tell what PCB is in a fight stick? I worry this creates an enforcement problem.

Right now hitbox adopters are super small minority though so who gives a shit.

True, and that’s not really a bad approach either (even if it’s not my preferred approach).

Plus SFV is just designed so that it wouldn’t really take advantage of hit box as much as other games. SFV is an unnecessary game to ban hit box for.
