SFV Lounge: No News after the grass, 10K POWERRRRRRR

Highland had literally no clue about any Fighter other than SFIV.

His “fair complains” were “but SFIV did it better, this was better in IV, you know in SFIV you could…”.

He was a 09er salty that he couldn’t play 1:1 like in IV and get away with it.
He would bleed out of his anus if he tries to fight someone good in an old game

I look forward to seeing the %s.

st.LK - 25%
st.HK - 25%
EX Zonk - 50%

:stuck_out_tongue:

For where I’m at it is an interesting alternate way to look at attack use. I try to be mindful of that while watching replays and sometimes review for that specifically but seeing a quick aggregate across all of a player’s matches is another way to come at it.

He’s actually an ST player that stopped playing FGs up until IVs release where he picked them back up again, because he was travelling during his youth.

But again, you just either lie about people/go off on retarded tangents in order to SEEM smart/witty. But in reality you know fuck all and love to try and belittle people/things to seem above them.

EX Zonk 50%??? YOU’RE OUTTA YOUR GOD DAMN MIND I’D NEVER BE THAT BAD.

…it’s at least 90%!

It’s only because it takes meter.

Don’t feel bad. We know if a Cody player could, they would use it 90%.

So that explains why he has literally 0 clue about ST.

Good to know.

Dude has got some major issues going on, for real. I’d rather be a dead Highland than a alive Cipher. Highland contributed to this forum for time, in a positive manner. Cipher is just, well, a terrible disease.

Speaking of 09’ers, how did you guys first venture into online/competitive SF?

Pretty much everyone I knew owned SFII Turbo for the SNES. Years later, after all my friends stopped playing the game, I learned of this Zbattle thing and decided to try my luck online. After installing the program I set up a room and waited for someone to join. I was easily the best player among my friends, so I thought I was hot shit.

Oh, we have a challenger. Poor guy, he doesn’t know what he’s in for. Let’s see, what’s his name?

DeeGeeVee…?

Alright, I’ll just 5-0 this guy real quick. He plays Dhalsim? Easy pickings! Everyone knows Dhalsim sucks. Lucky guy, he might learn a lot from playing me if he’s not too awe-struck by my skills.

Let’s just say, that day the FGC taught me a valuable lesson that is analogous to the world at large; by that I mean that there’s a lot more out there than the tiny bubble I had been living in up to then. I didn’t think an inflated ego could be cured so quickly.

Fun Fact: DGV is actually a set of twins that would post on SRK using the same account. Both are godlike at ST. Now one of the brothers plays more than the other IIRC. Dude is ridiculous with Ryu.

I didn’t play SF competitively till 4.

Competitive gaming went like this for me.

Shooters > MvC/CvS > Tekken > MOBAs > SF

You can sprinkle MK and anime in there. I played some 3rd strike, but I never got serious. I liked it more than 4 though.

Funnily enough fighting games other than Tekken and Mortal Kombat completely eluded me up until I saw the whole Daigo vs Justin shenanigans and got SFIV 7-8 years ago

I guess it’s because I was a Genesis kid, since Street Fighter was the biggest thing on SNES

Never played an SF game particularly serious, but SF4 was probably the first one I played on any significant level.

That is purely because of online play, where I live there weren’t other options.

Of course I was on the BB side of ‘09 I guess.

I know, I used to talk to DG on Zbattle. He taught me a lot about SF (never played Vintage much). I haven’t played them in a while, we never had a good connection on 2df or Xbox Live, and they never really got into SFIV.

Prior to the 09 online revolution I did play smash and VF4. Competed a little in both too.

Played GGXX in a very small local group.

Competition is was drives fighting games, before online play huge parts of the country didn’t really have competition…

Low key us older gamers are the minorities. Most new players started with sf4.

Sf4 dropped like 10 or 11 years ago.

I miss Papa Frost. Hopefully @Frost gets him something nice for Father’s Day.

He already got his father a present: Frost proved himself superior by ascending to Master.

Now Frost can speak to DJ like highland never could.

Get him a case of Foster’s wrapped in a tartan.

I was interested in hopping online during the PS3/360 era but the netcode on a lot of those games was ass-y and I came to a lot of them late enough to where I felt behind the curve. So I just watched competitive footage and lurked on here until next gen.

Cut to SFV’s announcement and I said “this is when I jump in.” So my first and only online (and I guess technically competitive) SF experience has been with SFV.

The analogy I though of is that is like if I learned English solely by way of watching American pornography.
