A lot of people complaining about the animations in MvCi are usually complaining about models.
One thing about MvCi that kind of irks me is how dark the game is. Game needed to be brighter in a lot of different ways. Feels like Marvel asked for NRS cuckery and ended up visually handicapping the game on accident.
Still dont like all the OTG stuff going in in MvC3 or MvCi. That property went from special to boring really fast. Cant stem that tide though; everybody wants more and more combo stuff.
Yeah, but people will latch on to the easy meme complaint. How many people still say that Kage has Dans animations because of that YouTube video (he doesn’t).
Models and animation they kinda go together, I’m not sure it’s always so easy to separate them.
Example, penance stare has the same animation from MvC3. However, it’s a different model, and different special effects (and no screen shake) so it looks really cheap. In this case that animation was made for a whole different look, it feels like they just copy pasted and did the bare minimum.
I would be curious to know what caused it. Low budget? Low time? New/inexperienced team without proper supervision? Marvel/Disney meddling screwing up the time tables?
That last sentence is most likely correct. Ultimate Alliance 3 has that same look. I’m not gonna wash Capcom of this (I don’t actually think the game looks bad as its beautiful in motion), but I don’t think its a coincident all Marvel games not Spider-man more or less looks the same. They also probably agreed to get the game made, and then Disney slapped them with an impossible dead line. There’s also the issue of Marvel going full insanity against X-men for games at the time (And all media). Without X-men; Capcom actually did put all the big names into the game, but no one cares about that apparently. Between that and Marvel games never actually selling too hot, Capcom took the speedy/cheap route to get the game out and not lose money. It is what it is. We can only hope the rumours are true and that Marvel took their heads out of their asses to let Capcom work. But on the flip side, I don’t know how much money Capcom can pump into the game when it’s ultimately going to sell less than 4 million regardless.
Gonna repeat myself for the millionth, but Marvel has always put their hottest license in the games.
90s hot license = X-Men
Hot licesne when MvC3 = Earth’s Mightiest Heroes
Hot license with MvCi = MCU characters
Problem is that people are so dumbfucky that they dont understand how good that is for us. Just like we had that mindblowm feeling with Xmen vs SF, kids get to have that feeling with MvCi. They get a game full of the characters they know from the movies.
But we just get meme people saying dumb shit and coming up with reasons to cry. Instead they should’ve been haooy at a roster that would hook kids into trying out FGs.
Hated the Marvel side of the OST, too. The overall OST isn’t anything special, but the Capcom side had some pretty cool themes.
Marvel is on the record of bringing in their own guys to do the music for their side. That’s why nearly all of the Marvel themes had that orchestra sound.
