True, but the tournament legal versions are still pretty strong. Lots of characters have cool stuff that’s not legal, but are still plenty strong.
I think sub is good, probably in that upper-mid tier spot that most characters live in.
Game is new, so I could be way off.
Sub Zero,D’vorah,Kung Lao,Shao interest me the most.Maybe some Frost if I can live with her having no head.

Agreed! Well, sorta. I’m not interested in another mainline game, but I wouldn’t mind something in the street fighter universe that tries something new. Rival Schools, Zero/Alpha and EX all came out in the mid/late 90’s when it seemed like Capcom was throwing everything at the wall to see what sticks. I’d be totally fine with something with a ton of style or a totally new direction while they take their time with a polished and balanced mainline game in 3-4 years.
The argument is, some of the things were designed for fun/single player modes, and not really designed for competitive play.
The dumb part is, that the two default variations… are not the legal ones.

A little more restraint and a little more thought has done a lot for MK11.
My two main universal problems is spacing and whiff punishing. I had better spacing/whiff in previous games but in SFV my spacing and whiff punishing needs work. I hate Crush Counters more than I hate Focus Attacks also…
I SAID IT. Doesn’t help that I’m a defensive player either but yeah no hard complaints since Karin and Juri gives me that synergistic boost every now in then…and if I lose due to my weakness ill just pick Birdie/R Mika :^)

More so nerf Geras frame data lmao. Frost has slow buttons so his 6 frame d+1 and fast advancing mids are hella stronk.
I still think FA COULD have been implemented better…I think overall it’s a better mechanic than CC…FUCK RED FOCUS though don’t get me wrong… I still think CC could be better…but dunno what they could do to spice it up

Current top MK11 characters atm are : Sonya, Liu Kang, Sub, Scorpion, Noob, Erron and Geras
Next would be everyone else but Shao Khan and Devorah imo. They are the only characters that are weak.
Yeah his d1 is silly.
He has good mids, but so do a ton of other characters. I think the “spikes” variation just rewards him (probably) too much for this connections.
Counter argument, spikes Geras has no real mixups, so there is room for people to “solve” parts of the matchup. It’s pure footsies.
My opinion, top tier:
Sonya, Geras, Liu Kang, Jax
CC and white life damage are flawed mechanics because they heavily favor some characters.
Some characters play the game while others fight the game’s mechanics.
