Hey guys. I’m kind of new here, sort of (had an account on SRK before but lost it). I’ve been wanting to get back into SFV for a while, but there’s this one question I’ve been meaning to ask. Who is the better character overall in Season 4: Ryu or Sagat?

As much as people like to say G is broken, He requires a level of skill to play. He’s actually hard to play at a certain level.
This is why i appreciate both Smug/801 as players! Doing it at the highest level.

There’s something magic about Juri Battle Costume, I can’t focus on the match when she’s on the stage dressed like that. Honorable mention for her swimsuit too.

First, welcome aboard!
Out of those two, I’d say Sagat is the best one if you want to do old school fireball zoning. And he also showers, unlike Ryu.
But why play with those losers? Join the Falke kingdom today!
They’re solid, just not top tier. You’re gonna run into a lot of problem matches with both. The difference is that Ryu will be less frustrating to play because he can move faster than Sagat.

I don’t like either but if I had to pick one of those characters I’d go Ryu for the superior movement.

So we just had a Sim/Juri Grand Finals at Naptown. Art defeated Justakid, but it was a great set.
They’re both mid-ish tier in my opinion, and Sagat is the one that requires the most skill out of the two because at least Ryu got movement, Sagat requires you to be on point with your zoning game and anti-air at all times to not get smoked.

Yesterday my city had its first regional. It was ran by people who tried to take credit for shit I did, attended by friends who got fucked over with me, and shrugged along by indifference towards suppirting shitty people.
My local scene is now officially about rewarding awful behavior. If you play fighting games in El Paso you now have to accept that lying about people by using a game’s scene as leverage to do it is okay as long as you buy people pizza, being an unhelpful lazy fuck is not a reason for people to be mad at you and just fanfiction yourself into having done anything for it.
I’ll always be legitimately surprised at how many shitty people get support through cowardice. So exercise your backbones the right way. Saying things are fucked up and people are wack isnt really all that natural.
Gonna give them the blow up in a few hours. So many people basically waltzed in like junkies and validated awful people.
On the plus side I was absolutely right about this city being able to drag people from other cities. Built up the scene something nice, protected the scene when we werent given a fair shake, put my money where my mouth is but got abused straight out of being able to take it to the next level.
What you mean abuse? I literally got called trash every day… as a joke. But whew lad, if the irony isn’t strong now.

How is that scene healthy? They’re literally cowards. I’ll drop some more details later but, I literally cannot recommend any of you join my local scene. It doesnt really stand for anything positive. People left decide that going through the motions was more important than having a big boy conversation about how wack they all are.
The message is pretty clear. Doesnt matter that you risk the stability of the whole scene through petty bullshit so long as you buy people pizza then brag about how you help even though you dont do shit.
If you cant bother to actually help when it matters, well thats fine too because people wont care and follow you anyway.
It isnt really a community at this point, just junkies looking for the high of live games. That’s the opposite if healthu, basically a lit fuse with a indeterminate timer on it.
Thanks for the tip. I actually came back to SFV for a little bit in Season 3 when he was first released. I stopped, but I decided to come back. Was going to play MK11, but the controversies surrounding the game kept me away.
One problem though is that I don’t have all the DLC characters.
Best thing you could do is tell us what type of stuff you find fun to do in FGs. Sagat or Ryu may not be where you need to be at.
I’m actually a former Karin main when SFV first released. Then I got bored of her and stopped playing.
Looking back at the way you worded the plus side, it appears I read that part wrong.
