Well let’s hope my son doesn’t use Kage because it’ll be a gawd damn blood bath. You hear me Frost.
Worse than Dime with this character shit.

Except nobody is praising “mediocrity”.
Mediocre: of moderate or low quality, value, ability, or performance; ORDINARY
Illwill says ~only 2% reach Gold according to PSN trophies. Let’s gives that statistic some leeway and triple it to 6% and assume all these players also make Plat at 7501. At that point you are still better than 94% of the playerbase. There is nothing ordinary or mediocre about that performance and to say otherwise is objectively false. You statisticslly aren’t at a “low level” and to say otherwise just distorts the meaning of the phrase.
Nobody is saying you have to be out here swinging your dick around because you are better than most people. Just read what you are saying and get some damn perspective.
Acknowledging you are good =/= bragging/trash talk/etc.
TLDR: Statistics disagree/git gud at English
Goddamn, Vhoz with the academical references!
So can we agree that Akhos is an “above-average SFV” player?
Volt knows literally nothing about any games he plays
Oh really?
You’re talking as a whole, I’m talking competitively where placement matters
The 98-94% that I’m “better than” aren’t travelling or trying to improve and compete
I can demolish my casual friends at Blazblue and Guilty Gear. I went 0-2 for both games at EVO. I’m terrible at those games.
Likewise, I’ve never gotten out of pools for SFV. 4-2 in 2016 and 2-2 in 2017.
2-2 in Smash in 2016 and 0-2 in 2017.
I’m a mediocre/below average competitive player and that’s at best. Fundamentally bad and inexperienced, as Windalfr would tell me.
LordWillie is a self depreciating bitch boy for reasons nobody can explain. Because fighting games require you to have some sort of confidence in your decision making, these games dont suit his mental state well.
If you guys want to help will get better, get him to stop being such a whiny cunt, because his gameplay will suffer for it.
Too many characters now have VTs that are just too powerful compared to VRs. VRs have been nerfed. Several VTs have been buffed. Everyone got a second VT, which gave them a second chance at obtaining a powerful VT.
In over-simplified terms, you generally hope for a V-Reversal to delay losing a round, while a V-Trigger can turn a loss into a win. Outside of complete desperation or confidence, if your VT is anywhere near that capable, why would you choose the former over the latter?
You guys ain’t Gona get good switching characters. That’s the basics of it. Not proper good. The amount of things you have to react to , add the frame data on top of that, add the twitch reactions on top of that, add both rises on top of that, add match up experience on top of that.
Twin is Super Diamond because he’s put the hours in with a main. Not that rank matters, but you can’t be complaining about ranks when it’s S4 and you’ve not got a main or are even settling on a couple.
You want to improve your reactions, pick a damn guy/gal and nut it out.
I played Ryu for 2 years and I can tell you id already be many levels below my best now because I’ve switched to Sagat.
I was going to actually look and compare how you did to some other players, but that is a waste of my time. So I’ll concede you are right about being terrible because proving otherwise is not actually my goal.
All I’m trying to do is to get you to have a more positive mindset. Trying to improve and realizing your shortcomings is good, but you also have to acknowledge when you do good. It’s all about balance. Yes participation trophies are dumb but a constant negative mindset isn’t doing your game and favors either.
“Have some damn confidence in yourself” is all I’m trying to say.
Hell dude I know I’m not good at all but even I got out of my pool at Evo 2016 because statistically you gotta realize that of the guys that go to tourneys, especially one as big as that one, only like q5-20% or so are gonna be at a real elite level. I like those odds!
This is facts and is ultimately why I’m back to playing Vega.
For all my bitching about him, my Vega is still light-years ahead of my ability with any other character on my best day. There are those little nuances you learn and develop over using a character for 100’s of hours. Even playing on my PSN Chun account it just feels like I’m just a Vega player cosplaying as another character.
I plan on attending April Annihilalation, and even if I think Vega is low tier trying to compete with any other character would be a waste of time.
Steam says 6.2% of PC players have the Golden League achievement.
No idea how those PS4 numbers are affected by multiple accounts, whether that brings the percentage up or down? I’d guess better players, the ones more likely to reach gold, are more likely to have multiple accounts.
Can every character shimmie? And do you walk back or dash back?
Yes,
Who are you trying to Shimmy with?
Ryu, akuma, basically I wanna learn regardless of who lol
Some characters can do dash back for a shimmy while others can just walk back. Depending on who you are trying to shimmy, the ranges where you do it from are different (Bison and Urien have LOL huge throw ranges so you can’t start your shimmy from point blank).
So it helps if you mention who, but in practice all characters can shimmy in one way or another.
Sandbager is that you? I may meet you again the next time I’m in at a SF event in Oslo
Ok ryu and akuma
