Personally I’m ready for SF6. SFV just never really clicked for me, the love was never there. It would be a shame if G stayed in SFV though.
Urien. Ex tackle into Aegis. One of the biggest bullshit moves in the game.
Will be a matter of time until he drops zeku. Old Zeku is just simply bad. Zeku is the young stance basically. Daigo looks like he’s experiencing his own char crisis atm. Best for him to just return to Guile. Guile is still busted asf against most of the cast.
Yeah I read Old Zeku’s notes. Still sounds like an old man trying to fight at best. It sucked seeing Angry Bird still mostly use Young Zeku vs Itabashi’s Abigail at CPT Finals.
Put in Oro so we can see a real old man.
I don’t think we’re winding down, but we are switching gears.
I can see why and in fact can make an argument for Capcom winding down SF5’s development but equally if not more so, I think the ‘SF5 Experiment’ is about to reach its full potential from a business standpoint.
I think we can probably look forward to:
- A full blown F2P model of the game released next year.
- At least 5 more characters in 2019.
- SSF5 or equivalent physical rerelease on current gen next year.
- Dropping the seasonal character pass in favor of individual releases and end of season bundles
- Ads becoming more prevalent on the and for the e-sports side.
- Definitive SF5 re-released as a launch game for next gen (with cross play).
SF6 won’t be happening anytime soon because there is a ton of money to be made from SF5 and even more lessons to learn for Capcom. They will milk this platform for what it’s worth for as long as possible.
Unless Sony really want it for PS5, SF6 is far too risky. Repackaging SF5 for PS5 is the cheaper option.
About fkn time, his neutral is what keeps him out of the top 5 atm.
If you think SF6 will be better on default, I’ve a bad news for you.
Old improvements are good enough to keep me playing Young 70-80% most of the time, just sayin’. The best role of Old is powering up the damage in some combos, but no one is scared of him.
You’re not alone, trust me. @Dime is right, most characters in SFV feels half assed compared to previous SF. You can play a TT and call it a day, play the character you like among this handicapped ones or just wait for new ones. Daigo is doing the latter.
I like SFV, but the sooner we move on to SF6 the better. SF4 despite all its flaws will be remembered fondly for many reasons. The same can’t be said about SFV and it’ll never escape that, especially with casuals who still remember how bad the launch was with how little content it came with.
I don’t want them to rush SF6 but if they can get it out by 2021 then I’m all for it. This series could use a fresh start because SFV will never escape the stench that it has been stuck with since the beta days.
What makes you so sure that SF6 will be better? What happens when SF6 “sucks”?
SF5 has escaped its bad launch with AE, stop beating on a dead horse. The lifetime sales and the critics reviews are a testament to this.
No guarantee the grass is greener and other games don’t have the luxury of having launch stench. They just have the smell of dirt from their well past death.
Plus cab ensures won’t see much for SF6 until CPT Finals in December 2020 and possible that they’ll just port SFV onto PS5 for another year to buy more time any way.
I’m not sure at all, it’s just a new start, that’s all.
As for AE, it was a nice reboot but didn’t erase SFV’s bad image although it did clean it up a bit. As for sale, I think it did fine but we have no idea how much it has sold. Titles only show up in Capcom’s sales page once they reach 1 million sold and AE hasn’t done that yet.
I do hope it eventually does because too many people have assumed that it’s not a separate SKU and has sold next to nothing because they’re only looking at SFV’s life time total which hasn’t budged that much since AE came out.
The rest of S4’s content will give us a good idea of what resources they feel comfortable allocating to the game. That’ll be faster and smarter than looking at stock broker stuff.
Opinion gonna drop lower once people see his vtriggers arent that great. I think vt1 is gimmicky and the teleport is only good for fadc and the focus attack. Vt2 is legit because of the hkd and demon but its not s3 abby/menat levels of robbery. Its just good.
Oh my friend, are you blind.
Once SFVI is out, it will be a terrible game and be worse than SFV in every aspect, everyone will hate it, till SFVII comes out. SFV will be praised for being a much better game and needing a lot more skill to play.
You obviously don’t know how new SF games work.
This is how it goes for every new SF game, was the case with IV too.
and SF3.
I’m also sure fans of SF1 at the time thought SF2 was not a real SF game.
Anyone here played Omen of Sorrow? Animations look horrible like in any low-budget fighting game but it seems to be getting decent support by the developers (free new waifu in January for example) and I’d really love to try something new at this point.
Otherwise I’m just going to wait for that easy-mode Fantasy Strike to launch on Switch.
I’m only referring to the casual audience. If it comes out with enough content and plays well enough then hopefully it’ll be well accepted by fans, critics, and hopefully sell well.
I’ve heard the “this is and isn’t real SF” talk many times and that’s not what I’m referring to. I’ve been playing this series for over 26 years and it’s the only series I play nowadays and I want it to continue to exist. The current game gets shit on a lot, so I hope the next one can change that tune like how Namco did going from TTT2 to Tekken 7.
Namco changes tune from Tag 2 to T7?
Did I miss something?
They just did a dreammatch and then went on with the main series.
On I sidenote, I really hope that DBFZ dies now, I’m going to moogle dance on the grave of this game, when it happens.
Hi Score Girl on Netflix is so legit.
I am loving it and getting so girly and emotional while watching it.
The girl being a Gief main really helps it too!
History shows:
SF2 > SF3 > SF4 > SF5…
So… SF5 > SF6…
SF3:3S was not better than USF4 overall. SF4 is still the best received SF game of the modern era and the entire genre owes a debt to it for its regenesis.
Too many factors make up an SF game. What are we comparing? And when? The ink is dry for SF3 and 4, SF5 is still very much alive and can evolve between now and its final form.
Give SF5 its time under the sun.
