SFV Lounge: Menat BUFFED, F2P SFV coming, CCCC COMBO BREAKERS coming

Can’t punish very well, still gets nothing from whiff punishes and his normals in neutral aren’t very good

He’s just a way worse Ken right now

Too many requirements. Just play the character with the best boobs or booty, depending on your preference.

That would just lead me to Mika and I tried that already and it just doesn’t work out :disappointed_relieved:

Is anyone playing tonight, I want to try other things out but I don’t want to deal with randoms online right now

My suggestion got ignored :rage:

Frost would call me dumb if I picked that one though

Fuck that guy, nobody likes him anyway.

Sf5 is a fucked up game. Back in the day I could play over half the cast of damn near any streetfighter because they all had basic fucking attributes.
All had good throws, all had good buttons, all had good AA, many had decent fireballs or some sort of ranged move that didn’t get them killed on block.

It’s hard finding a character in sf5 that isn’t literally fucked in some way.

They either have shit ass slow AA. Or shit ass slow pokes, or shit ass slow walkspeed, or shit ass no fireball, or no pressure up close, or no way to get in and apply their pressure or they lose to characters that have better zoning for free.

It’s a weird/wack game who’s only saving graces for me are that it’s online with rollback netcode, and has decently fun upclose game/blockstrings. Everything else feels pretty terrible because you feel niched out and set into a particular gameplay style. It’s not unlike blazblu, in that manner.

Every characrer is designed with some huge weakness.

The nerfs to Cammy are a bit too much.

I honestly feel like Sim beats her now. It’s been even since S2, IMO. Her corner game is so much weaker and that was where she usually won against Sim.

Akuma

  • fast walkspeed
  • strong close mid range normals and whiff punish game
  • Good fireball game
  • Number of ways to ignore the neutral
  • Broken

Ed has pretty decent normals. St hp with insane range. St hk that can reach from neutral. Super fast cr mp poke. St mk that not just reaches far but also clips n.jumpers or jumpins. He also has ways of beating the neutral or mixing up offense with charged st hp, v sklll (charged and uncharged), and vt2 psycho snatchers. He also has a fireball game.

That’s why I said to keep Menat around. Basically playing both Ken and Menat gives you what you want between the two characters. Won’t get both things at the same time, but they both cover the most of what you want to do as long as you switch between them.

It’s the same thing I do with Ibuki and Falke. Ibuki is my typical 3S/anime type character that works for me, but I’ve also learned to like zoner type characters that can play from the range that Ibuki doesn’t really wanna play from. Both of them together complete how I like to play the game vs different people.

What’s the longest ranged cancelable move (into a safe on block special) in the game?

I’ve got abby with cr.mk but no safe special.

After that maybe Karin since she has st.hp and it can cancel safely?

Over that I’ve also got old zeku with st.hp xx hk koku

Any others? I’m looking for strong cancel game with specials that combo safely.

Good fuck Cammy lmao

Bison st hp

Good one! I used bison for like half a day and was definitely abusing that into his charged special. Forgot about him. I might just go back to him but he seems to obsolete having a second almost since he has so much sf5 stuff and what he doesn’t have he really doesn’t need.

“These h*es ain’t loyal.”

Remember when you loved Cammy?

Man the Ice Queen made you cold bro.

Cammy is, or at this point maybe was my favorite MU because, to me, it felt so even. Sim could completely zone her out and she could get in and straight RTSD.

Ryu, Ken, Akuma

You literally want a shoto.

Urien st.hp/st.mp/cr.mp into lk/EX.tackle.

I hate Urien.

Re: SFV development winding down,

Is it possible that advertising in SFV was introduced as a way to gauge sponsor interest in the feature, thereby cheaply prolonging the life of the game? Then when there wasn’t enough interest exhibited they decided to just can SFV and move on?

We don’t even know for sure that development is actually winding down, I’m just wondering why, if it were, Capcom would bother even introducing advertising into a soon to be obsolete game that inevitably would have a very small audience and therefore little sponsor interest.

And I thought the MK dude wanted Gill badly…
