I feel like just from playing against him, Kage is very good, but not the hurricane everyone is describing.

If I were to tag him , I’d say he’s a meter dump character. Save up all the resources and dump them in one.

Nah, you need to spend meter on ex tatsu if you want good midscreen oki. You can save for demon but dropping a bar on ex tatsu or ex red fireball in corner is well worth it rather than hogging.

Do agree that after playing him a bunch he’s not broken, just a really strong character. Some tweaks are deffo gonna be needed just to reign in his retarded shit a little bit. Kinda hoping they don’t fuck with his demon but it’s just too good imo.

Theres a huge gap between those two moves though. People online don’t know Falke is in the game yet but even if you don’t know how to time your punish you could just mash standing jab to beat the overhead clean.

That said if I mess up or want my offense going I go for it sometimes as well and it works more often than not. I prefer cancelling into it from safe or plus moves though.

Capcom, please. I am +7 after standing shot and I can only follow with s mp if I did it raw, point blank.
If I do it in a combo, I can only follow with a light and then I can only follow the light with ex PP. :sob:

Regarding the 2500FM mission, this would be the second (or maybe third) time, I remember this happening. I think it occurs at the end of the cycle, then Capcom Unity and Twitter goes nuts and then the cycle gets restarted a day or two later.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they cut it out altogether, but there would be a notice of this… Or there should be.

Does standing shot > stLK xx PPP works? If so that’s already better than nothing.

But yeah, I figured out quickly that +7 at that distance with Falke’s normals wasn’t going to open a lot of combo routes, her good cancelable normals that reach like stMK and stHP are too slow to combo into +7. You can combo with crMK from a reasonable distance, and if you have V-Trigger you can cancel into that. Falke is still very much about slowly chipping away people’s health, so not being able to combo from +7 is not too much of a big deal for me.

Nah these are definitely general Extra Battle changes that people have datamined recently.

Those other 2 times it happened this year, all missions were affected.

You can combo s LK xx PPP after standing shot.
C mk vtc is only +9, so it doesn’t open a lot of options either, specially at the distance you will be.

I would be more okay with the very limited routes after shot if it still comboed from lights. :frowning:

Yeah, Falke’s buffs are a bit weird. The only changes that really have an impact on how I play her is Trigger 2 being 2 bars and cr.HP linking after st.MP. Standing shot being heavily advantageous on hit is nice to continue pressing buttons afterwards but on block it pushes you out so far that the +2 don’t matter at all.

Think I’m going back to Chun for a while, even though I hate that unnecessary juggle nerf after V-Skill.

But if you’re burning meter midscreen, isn’t it better to do the regular KKK combo?

Can’t combo KKK from s lk and she also lost her reset after KKK since you can’t cancel df K into anything any more. :frowning:

Here we go.

Kage is strong, but he reminds me Necalli with better Oki minus a command grab (a real one). He’s a counterpoking character from mid-range, he can’t play zoning with just the red fireball, the normals aren’t phenomenal, so Kage trying to force his way in it’s expected. Like Oni he has tricky crossup gimmicks and the damage is high, but I want to see more from Kage after players get some experience with him. For now I don’t see Kage as the fantastic monster described here and I’m glad some pros have the same feeling. Time will tell.
