You guys rag on NRS animation at every opportunity like SF is some last bastion of great animation in fighting games. SFV alone is filled with normals that are just limb movements with hit-sparks instead of attacks that actually look like they would harm someone.

Yeah I would have done something like Aegis Carmine also. That’s a good Marvel movement/lockdown assist type team.
SF animation at it’s worst is still lightyears better than anything NRS have produced

With NRS it’s the general mix of everything being dark/gothic, the characters being zoomed out and blending into the backgrounds and the nasty animations with no real sparks to determine hits that just makes the game feel really off visually. Seeing the characters ragdoll fly their hands and feet at each other with nothing really indicating the hits is lame. Reminds me of when I used to play with my action figures. Get a similar visual experience.

Let me rephrase…
SF may have better animations but the moves the characters do a lot of times just look straight dumb. Like look at any characters crouching short and it looks ridiculous as something supposed to be an attack.
NRS animations may be lesser, but I also feel like the attacks look more dangerous and they definitely have more weight.
Edit: Holy shit those animations are garbage…my memory deceives me.

Mortal Kombat, like Smash, is a fun party game. Excellent at keeping the kids occupied for a while.

It looks like the fighting equivalent of someone trying to run full speed with their hands straight down at their sides.
