If they had stayed in Tokyo I still definitely think there would have been a noticeable drop off. But I think the difference is this massive because they’re going all the way to Fukuoka. The numbers will grow much more, but yeah it won’t be anywhere close to last years numbers.
Long as Daigo, Fujimura and Itazan show up I’ll have a good time watching. Arcade cab is down the corner any way.
If I had access to this game in an Arcade setting, I’d make it a point to participate. Nothing better than good ol’ offline.
LOL TBF it was like 4 AM when I was looking at the matches on CFN and was just like “oh ok well lemme look at this CFN match I’m sure if Highland is even playing Ryu, Cody is Frost’s boy he’s probably getting it in on him”. Then first match I see is him losing to Roo man and I’m like “awww nah can’t be losing to Roo man. How he gonna beat Sagat if he losing to ROO???” I saw he won the set, but it’s more fun if you make fun of it.
Hoji (top NY Cody in NLBC dojo) said Ryu is one of his worst matches, so Ryu must actually have a fireball game now. Either way to me it’s still Cody and VT2 can still dump on anyone.
The times you got me with Roo man you did get me though. Yeah, Falke out neutrals both Sagat and Ryu so only shot is to outplay me. Ryu doesn’t have a dive kick or air fireball so it’s really easy to concentrate on his dash any way. I have good reactions so I’m always c.LP or s.LK checking his raw dashes in neutral. You’ll get got by one, but that’s 3rd Strike/Killer Instinct/Marvel any way. Don’t make me cry. I also learned to use c.HP to deal with early jump buttons that shotos like to do. Her stick is already up their butt by the time they get to the top of their jump.
I might end up getting too busy to play, but if not I’ll look for you.
If i were to change sagat i’d make him more mobile.
After playing Ibuki of all characters vs Highland’s Sagat, I don’t not want that AT ALL. He actually has a walk now which he didn’t have in IV, so that helps him. I’ll give making his tiger knees better for movement, but he doesn’t need his core movement touched at all.
It’s like the people in the discord who were asking for Falke to get faster walk speed or dash. Even as a big fan/main of the character I was just like…“no”
Everyone always wants their character to have what they don’t have.
Kolin need a normal fireball, bigger normals, more damage, and a DP.
Easy.
It’d be nice if Ibuki could get that also.
Shotos have been 4-6 against Cody since the beginning of the universe, at least when they were more similar. Ken isn’t as bad any more.
His Ryu was rusty af though so ezpz win
Seriously this. We kind of need that anti-fanservice character in the roster given how pretty much every other waifu in the game has lewd costumes. Compare all that to this:
THAT was the extent of “sexyness” you could get from the character. Meanwhile in the Alpha series you had Sakura flashing her pantsu all the damn time
They probably missed the part about sloppy contributions during the beta… but oh well. It’s a shame that people believe “most” (not all) of his shtick of pulling out random assumptions.
As much as i want dudley. G kinda already fills his role in both archetype and overall aesthetic. And people wouls cry for days about a comboable overhead, which probably wouldnt even that good in this game, timing that dart shot meaty would be a total pain in the ass.
Ono bring us dudley
Boxer is already hybrid Dudley now too and basically has a slow comboable overhead (and gets a free one with VTC), but Dudley is still his own thing to me and they’d most likely go slight redesign to keep him apart from Dudley and G.
Boxer plays wildly different than the dudders though. The comboable overhead has always been a gimmicky balrog thing.
Boxer is a slugger, dudley plays with finesse.
At minimum Boxer has more Dudley things now. More counter poke based like Dudley, sway/ducking type move, there’s more Dudley things in him now than there were before and Smug basically going from barely getting by to actually winning shit the day Boxer came out definitely is a part of that. SFV Boxer is easily the closest thing he’s going to have to Dudley until Dudley hits.
From being a 3S player, G is more like actual good Q than Dudley. Q at best was like a really shit/awkward version of Boxer.
SSB is very different from KKB though and I’m sure they’ll find some parry/focus thing to add to him. In 3S parry was essential to how he played since he was so short ranged outside of comboable sweep. In IV focus was a more obtuse way of allowing him to play a bit of his 3S game, so they might add in a parry/focus for him also.
G fills the archetype but not the character, Duds could play a much more level-headed game as well, G is forced into going ham to maintain level momentum.
Dudley buttons are really fun to use in neutral.
Makoto’s muscular bare shoulder
She looks like Cammy Rainbow Edition version, she was practically safe on 80% of her shit and she has wonky hitboxes (make her dp whiff often result in getting hit anyway).
I hated everything about decapre.
No. Burn her, forget about her
