I see variants from time to time but yeah its way more common to not.
Also with Urien it is funky because his hammock code is different from the “alt version costume” code they’ve used everywhere else.

They should just add a flag for the alt costume when you pick your character on battle settings.
I mean I like her new appearance too. I just don’t think it’s right to change up a character so soon. Give her some time to grow, especially since her old appearance wasn’t particularly bad.
To me it sort of feels like getting a burger, eating half, then out of nowhere someone takes my burger and relaces it with a slice of pizza. Like yeah I appreciate my slice but I kind of wanted to finish my burger. Idk its hard to describe.
Like it’s not a big deal. I’m just making conversation.
That would be 4 pm my time. Like 6 hours after you start playing i can. Probably wont be happening. Shoulda hit me up sooner breh
Maybe I might get a smidge of time in the morning, like an hour. That’s like 12 hours from now. I’ll post here when I can play!
So like twice as much as the TWT grand price then.
So far, yeah. Most of the new SF4 characters are kinda trash or have some replacement. I can see why Capcom hasn’t bothered to push these characters into V or basically created a replacement character.
Fuerte = trash. Don’t need him again.
Rufus = fat dive spam twin. Don’t need him again.
Abel = ok he has some things away from Laura, but Laura is basically enough of what Abel is with a fireball (which allows some interesting combos and proximity block tech ) so he’s basically irrelevant. Plus his character design is rather boring and his personality is stoic like Falke’s but without the TnA.
Viper = my favorite SFIV character and the one I wouldn’t mind coming back, but she would obviously be redesigned in some way and people will have a field day about that. Even though she’s basically my other favorite SF character (Falke is close 3rd now), I can see why some people don’t care for her at the same time.
Decapre = stupid Cammy doll with smoke and mirrors image White Len Melty Blood gameplay. I won’t complain too much if she ends up coming back, but I can live if I never see her again. The most uncharge charge character ever lol.
Gouken = Santa Claus shoto. Already getting more shotos than we need and Sagat already kinda fills the control shoto archetype. TBF his gameplay is very unique for a “shoto” and I wouldn’t complain if he gets in, but it’s still Santa Claus shoto.
Seth = Dr.Manhattan/Dural reject version of Urien/Gill. Plus named after Seth Killian so even more cheesy. His gameplay is full retard also. Anybody who wants him back is lame.
Oni = Kage is already a cross between him and E.Ryu any ways. Plus he’s ANOTHER edgelord shoto that is loved by casuals/shoto players and hated by everyone else.
Hakan = I’ll admit he’s a fun character overall, but as far as goofball characters go I prefer what Fang does both as gameplay and as a character design over him. Fang has a very serious/sadistic side to go along with his goofball number 2 crap. Hakan just can’t be taken seriously in any way at all.
Poison = Technically started in XTekken, but SFIV is basically a newcomer roll for her in mainline SF. Ehhh she’s kinda cool but I think Falke kinda covers her role gameplay wise ATM. Being a zoner with a rekka is a cool concept though. She’d have to get redesigned in some way and past that she’s just ok to me.
So far I’m much more of a fan overall of the SFV newcomers. Falke, Menat, Kolin and Zeku are really hits for me even if I only play one of them and really like what they did with Rashid, Laura and Fang even if I don’t play them. Abigail is fun too.
SF5 Newcomers are the best newcomers since SF3.
Seriously, so many unique flavors added to the franchise.
Yeah of that list the only ones I really want are Viper and Decapre.
What gets me about SF fans is how people don’t want another doll but are ok with 4 shotos, Sak, Sagat, and Guile in one game.
I really would love at least one more of the dolls.
I like hugging people, so I wouldn’t mind Hakan being back.
Even if his hugs are of the slippery kind!
I wouldn’t mind another doll, just not Decapre. Shit reception at her launch and her gameplay is just stupid.
Shotos are like the ninjas in Mortal Kombat or DOA. They’re just a core archetype of the series that have enough basic appeal because of the gameplay and iconic fighting style they represent. Karate and Ninjutsu was like the 90s period and that shit is still popular today.
Falke is more or less a “doll”, and so is Ed.
The original 12 Dolls are free now. I’d be open if one of them returns (Juni) but reinvented as part of Delta Blue.
Well when people say dolls I think they are just mainly referring to Cammy based dolls any way. Abel is doll/clone thing too but yeah.
What? No she is not and neither is Ed. Being related to Shadaloo does not make them dolls bro.
doll = Brainwashed genetically engineered or enhanced soldier. Male or female. So Seth and Abel are dolls.
Doll = Bison’s Elite Dozen of Female Body guards lead by Killer Bee.
I like almost all the redesigns. But I think that’s because this is the first time most of these characters have really been seriously rethought.
You gotta remember that EVO Japan moved from Tokyo to Fukuoka. Fukuoka is no where near Tokyo and all the way in the Southern half of the country. This is like moving your event from a NY or LA to a Denver or Charlotte.
Sure they’re both cities with big populations, but no where near as big as the biggest cities or anywhere close to them. You have some foreigners who won’t go because it’s not Tokyo. But the biggest drop off has to be the fact that most locals from Tokyo and cities within a few hours don’t want to make the extra long drive or take a flight to Fukuoka.
The actual numbers for EVO Japan are these.
Found it on r/Kappa, the place for refined intellectual discussion in the FGC.
The reasons for the huge drop are probably a combination of EVO Japan not having the same novelty of last year, the fact that they’re having the tournament in Fukuoka instead of Tokyo (probably to save money, but it’s basically on the other side of the country compared to Tokyo and this creates a lot of issues since travelling to Fukuoka is not as convenient as Tokyo even for Japanese players) and, probably most importantly, the fact that registration started on the 27th of December and it’s going to end on the 31st of January. Registration started late, maybe it wasn’t well advertised and there’s still a bunch of time to register even if not a lot of it.
At least, these are the reasons I’ve heard the most around.
Lol don’t play semantic games to cover up your dumb ass comment. You knew what I meant.
Discourse mobile butchers the presentation, but the tweet I posted actually quotes the one you posted.
