Hey, if Menat’s high orb placed Soul Spark can hit crouching, why not Sagat’s sthk?
I probably would never touch another button at neutral if hk hit crouching. At that point it would be 8f, anti air, CC, combo into stuff, and only be -1.
Itd probably be more problematic than menat s3 hp
Probably unpopular opinion among the crowd that loves to say “doesn’t feels like Street Fighter” about everything, but another decision I’m fully on board in SFV is how they toned down the lows, especially the low forwards. A good low forward of the old days which shrinks the hurbox, can be cancelled into a safe special and doesn’t has enough recovery to whiff punish is inherently flawed in the sense that the proper answer is another good low. Either the character doesn’t have a good low and has most of his moveset made useless or both characters are doing →←↓MK 80 % of the time. Shoto players may not mind doing and watching this all day but quickly becomes boring to anyone else. Elena’s cr.LP in SFIV wasn’t technically a low but also did the same to a lot of characters.
The way standing normals or even cr. MPs can take precedence over cr. MKs is a huge improvement that frees people from having to rely on a single normal for most of the match. This doesn’t take down from other SFV’s issues on neutral but it a good step forward that I wish SF6 doesn’t nullify out of a kneejerk reaction to everything SFV.
Hopefully they listen to frosty for 4.5
Technically it does hit crouchers, it’s just the range that it hits crouchers at is the shortest its ever been.
Other issue is none of his other heavy buttons that hit crouchers are strong so he has this ok standing heavy that doesn’t hit crouchers and no other real threatening heavy buttons in a game where that’s pretty much a must to be considered for high tier. s.HP gets slightly better if he has super or VT active, but still sucks.
hey I didn’t say it might not need data adjustments, on block it’d prolly have to be made into -4/-6 but apart from that I don’t think it’d be problematic given the state of everybody else.
oh boy…another dumbass 7-8 frame heavy that leads to full combos and hits crouching. Just another Kolin’s st.HP, sure i would totally find that to be fair and balanced on Sagat, why not ?
Sthk now hits crouchers but changed to -6 on block if only the far hit connects
Sthp is now 9 frame start-up
Stmk is now 8 frame start-up
Crhk is now 10 frame start-up
Crmk is now 8 frame start-up
Crhp is now 8 frame start-up, has a new animation that gives it more range, can now be super cancelled
Angry Scar down to 50 frames total
All tiger knees have 2 extra active frames
Collision box on all tiger uppercuts moved upwards during start-up so he doesn’t randomly pass under people when anti-airing with it closer up
Critical Art changed to 1 frame start-up when cancelled into, so DP xx Critical Art will connect consistently as a juggle/anti-air (this is how Abigail’s works)
Sound good to you?
now that’s a change list I can get behind
Which is why Capcom will never do it
The best was Vanilla SFIV Ryu c.MK. It was essentially a low profile c.MK and you could use it to hide under jump buttons and anti air via trip guard. It was nutty in that game.
The way SFV is designed it does take care of the c.MK that does everything stuff that’s too common in the other games. The top buttons in this game are mostly standing, but at least standing buttons allow you to walk backwards. Top tier low hitting button means you can’t even walk back in footsies to avoid it so you’re essentially neutrally trapped once they get in a certain range.
Elena’s c.LP described a lot of SFIV’s normal issues in a nutshell. No commitment chainable crouching light button that goes into full combos, no risk to use vs focus attacks and can’t be whiff punished at all. Then has the range of a medium or a heavy. In SFV there is no light button with that type of range that goes into anything crazy like that. 3S is similar where most light buttons can’t chain into anything special without super and even stuff that can chain and combo into EX like Yang’s c.LP can be parried high and low.
cammy mirrors takes more skills than bison mirrors and i hope this isnt a sign of the future
I love Karin mirrors, the only time i had fun messing around with Karin in this game was in a Karin mirror match. Its a blast to play.
The only good mirror is a Menat mirror
You forgot c.HP. Can’t have Sagat without c.HP.
With both sthk and sthp hitting crouchers (from my changelist anyway) it feels difficult to make that a button without making it redundant
Okay fine I added a change for it happy now
Yeah. Super cancel is like having link into super from CVS2. c.HP is good again thank the gods.
wait waitwait birdie VT2 goes through rashid vt1
shieeeeeeeeeeet
