Ryu is much better than before but he just isn’t as fun as Sagat. I like the fireball changes. They’re great. The donkey kick adds a lot to his footsies. However, those short ass ground buttons are a boner kill for me.
I like traditional shoto style. I want to dominate the ground and back it up with a dp. I don’t want to dash around like a crazy person and be forced into jumping in certain match ups just because my buttons are inferior in a major way.
So if I’m mostly gonna be zoning, I’ll do it with the character thats better at it.
I can’t stand IPAs, they taste like grass to me, they have become super popular in the last years and now everytime I go to my favourite beershop they always have tons of them and only a couple of stouts and porters because “not many people drink them”, fuck people
In my younger days I was into the micro brew/dark beers like pale ale and stouts etc.
Nowadays as an old man I just want some easy drinking stuff, no high falutin dark beer! I can still drink the dark beers but a simple crisp lager does it for me.
When it comes to beers like that, my favorites are the German/ norwegian beers like Heineken/Becks and beers that are made from that POV like New Zealand steinlager. But a simple corona or miller will always do.
Funnily enough there’s a beer in au that is both loved and hated. Extremely hoppy like a Samuel Adams, but super cheap, called emu export. I love em.

Mate I’d drink piss before I drink a VB. The only time I’ve ever drank the stuff was when I was already drunk and the tastebuds were shot and I was getting them for free. Tbh, once your drunk they aren’t that bad. But tasting them on a sober palate, for me, LITERALLY tastes like someone took a nice normal beer and tossed in a drop of dishwashing liquid, shook it up, bottled it and sold it.
Ok I just lost 4 FT3 sets to this Kolin I cannot play Ibuki anymore. I cannot deal with her dogshit buttons. Not without a fireball or a midhitting CC.
Yeah that’s Ibuki. Her buttons are actually decent, but not in the long range Birdie/Chun/Menat/Falke way. They’re decent in the Ibuki way which is a lot of the good ones are fast and low recovery. If you learn how to use them with her v skill you can make them dangerous for counter poking, but if you’re looking for long mid range character yeah she’s not gonna work for you.
Her whole gameplan is to counter big buttons and go into set play. Basically the opposite of long mid range buttons that are more about dictating space which she’s not about.
I guess you’ll have to stick with Claw and keep someone else on side. Falke lets me play that long mid range gameplan that I can’t get with Ibuki so could mess with her also.
Lol that guy was whiff punishing my VS from as far as half screen with his own VS.
But yeah I cannot work with this. Raida doesn’t combo from max distance cancels and DP gives no oki outside the corner. ffs her 3f doesn’t even chain into itself and she has no light combo into s.lk. Her VS is basically a poor mans fireball.
Before I go back to Vega and Chun I might give Sak another try. Her oki is weaker but she has standing resets instead along with a fireball and mid hitting CC. Making people not hit buttons in neutral is too much work with Ibuki.
It was a fun week I guess. But I need some decent old man sf with my setplay.
You can usually get oki off HK DP. It’s not amazing but at most ranges you get at least a meaty and the corner push is good enough. Basically the whole point of the character is to land c.MP to EX kunai or c.MK VT2 as those give you still about the strongest post hit situation with no rise for the opponent. Her V Skill is much more than a poor man’s fireball especially since it builds her v gauge. It’s pretty cheap for a character like Ibuki to be able to throw a projectile button at people, but it is contextual to the matchup. Like Kolin’s V Skill is one of the few real good counters to her V Skill that doesn’t require something very reactionary.
That’s the thing about Sakura, she has ok standing reset stuff, but Ibuki’s c.MP ex kunai and c.MK VT2 leads into shit way more dangerous than her standing stuff so people will likely still stick with Ibuki in tourneys because of that. Sakura’s neutral is more traditional though so you’ll probably like that a bit better. Still going to hate fight Birdie and Kolin with her, but at least it’ll feel more like a shoto which is probably what you’re looking for.
