Hasn’t Chun always been negative on her mid range moves on block? I think from a design perspective, that is intentional. Even 3s chun has negative frames on the amazing normals she had.
She struggles a bit on oki in most situations but I always found that vt1 makes up for this with pressure and vt2 gives her oki options. Guess it just shows how this game was built to be, huh.

SF4 her st. MP was +2 on block and +5 on hit (also had a hitbox that covered more of the midsection). They don’t want that in this game for whatever reason.
Her VT1 is decent, but doesn’t hold a candle to some other VTs in the game and is still only about 13 seconds to try and get anything done with it. They guess correctly once and they’ve pretty much survived it. Compare that to Kolin’s 2 bar that’s actually over 40 seconds if she doesn’t do the special dash or VT move out of it (but still has the threat of better pokes from it).
That’s fair I suppose. Although, with st.mp there was no conversions off of that move, whereas cr.mk, counter hit f+mp and some other moves have conversions in the mid range while being negative on block.
It is a little infuriating to see Kolin vt2 exist. Well, a lit bit more than a little. Lol
That is not true that she had no conversion in SF4. You could link/cancel into EX legs (“swedish firecracker”) or super on hit and link into ultra on counter hit in SF4. I also forgot to mention I believe that same move is + on block in ST where she can harass you with it for tick throw pressure and also link into stored super on hit in that game.
In SFxT she cancel the far MP into MK legs (which was + on block for pressure) and cancel that into the tag partner for a combo, so yeah it was a better move in some of the older games imo.
This game requires you get a CH or VTC to get anything from it and it’s even on block, making it easier for the opponent to challenge afterward.
He cr. MK doesn’t have nearly as much range either, so that’s why I think her mid range conversions are a little weak comparatively despite having some of the longer pokes. VTC is kind of the only saving grace in that regard.
I guess I meant more so for a consistent knockdown or link. Not a knockdown requiring resources.
Chun was broken in st. Up there for Boxer and Claw. St.mp pressure was for real.
Does anybody in here play ibuki? Since I got my fight stick I’ve decided to give her another go. I have a general idea on her neutral game. I know some super basic vt2 combos. The disconnect is on pressure and meaty stuff with her.

I know we had a decent crew of people playing her on here at one point but I think they got fractured off to the Discord or moved on to other things. DJ is the main guy that comes to mind for kunoichi antics.
Yeah I’ve posted a couple times on discord but they usually just say go read the newbie guide. Which gives mainly neutral and then a couple setups and mu advice.
And I ain’t trying to annoy them just to be pointed at the same guide. I’ll just annoy y’all since y’all are used to my scrub questions.
Ps- thanks for the input on the stick this thing is nice as fuck. Build quality is great and it has a nice weight and size to it.

Yeah I’m surprised at how much muscle memory I had left from playing stick before. Started feeling myself and jumped into rank and lost a shit ton of points. Lol. But I’m already almost as comfortable as I was on pad.
Speaking of sticks, has anyone picked up the new Razer Panthera? I have the first model and really enjoy it. Probably the best non-custom stick I have purchased.

Character discords usually suck ass. The Falke one is just barely doable for me and I only use it to troll and say wuz up to the 2 or so Falke players I actually care about. I haven’t been on Discord in a month any way.
Although I’m currently maining Falke online, Ibuki is still my other main and I’ve been maining/playing Ibuki since 3rd Strike so I’ve already answered more questions about Ibuki then you’re ever going to ask. Might as well shoot.
