Sakura AA game is crap against trajectory change nonsense(lol akuma/dive kicks) and oftimes you are at a frame disadvantage after hitting cr. Hp even with the recovery buff.
Also Sakura can combo lights into LP DP or ex Dp all day.
Edit: I’m pretty sure she can go to MP DP from light confirms in S4.
I actually kind of think of Sakura as medium difficulty, depending on what you’re good at. Some input overlaps if you aren’t clean, ideally want to be single hit confirming most of the time, has links in some important combos.
Not a big barrier to play her, but not autopilot for beginners either.
You must be trying to AA crossups that need an auto-corrected delayed normal, because this thing beats any shallow/tight crossups for free as soon as they extend their hurtbox.
If you hit it late, i can agree. But i dont have a problem. Works most of the time. But you have air throws if you have people jumping at you from close.
I think Sakura can’t be the easiest shoto because of her matchups. Cody, Falke, rashid, Bison, gief(holy shit this bad), birdie, akuma, Karin, guile, menat, Boxer. All shit matchups.
Hell I don’t think she does well against fucking Ryu right now. Then you got Abigail where you might roll him and he doesn’t get started or you get washed. Cammy and ken aren’t exactly even either.
There’s a difference between being easiest to play and hard to win with. A perfect example is another shoto ryu. Obviously im not trying to deter maravilla from playing sakura by giving him horror story of how she struggles against karin or cammy. lol.
Her combos are easy. Easy confirms and you have safe on block specials. Easy mode anti airs. Great jump in attack and far reaching dash in. Her meaties are easy with cr mp having 4 active frames. St mp is +3 and can be easily be pressured with. She has buttons optimized for every situation. St lk easy to whiff punish.
You dont have to confirm whether the opponent is standing or crouching like you do with other shotos like ryu, or have difficult corner combos like you do with akuma. Ryu’s frametraps in general are lacking. I mean to play akuma optimally can be hard with setups required for demon flips, etc. And ken there’s st mk whiffing on crouchers, and cr mk which needs to be confirmed into shoryuken. And learning how to use v skill run effectively without tripping yourself.
