What numbers you refer to? tournament entrants? because SFIV sales are more than double current SFV sales (granted over 3M is no slouch considering it was on only 2 systems)
I don’t make personal attacks and I’ve spent the vast majority of the time clowning Dr.B in the facebook group.
As I also mentioned, there’s a bunch of random cultural stuff that’s at play in the way he went about addressing things. In public the dude is saying random nonsense, in private he calls Ricky O a she. I’ve also enjoyed a lot of the other random feuds here.
That doesn’t mean I’m encouraging anybody to do what he does or approach things the way he is. Considering that most of the conversation involving the Wong vs Dr.B thing has focused on the two people playing, and not on any of the other ridiculous stuff Dr.B said to get there should’ve already let you know how much attention we aren’t giving him for his nonsense but how much we are on making sure he follows through.
So if you think people care because he said some shit about Ricki, nah. you already missed the part where he was called a clown twice in this thread for how he was acting. So firing on no cylinders there.
SFIV has 3 or more separate releases of content and has a higher lifespan currently. Not that that makes excuses for SFVs sales record, but the release system for SFIV encouraged more people to double dip into the game rather than DLC sales.
You should look at season passes as a purchase of the next “title update” SFIV style. They cost the same.
Entrants per tourney are growing last time I checked, and that’s on a game most people think is mediocre. If SF6 manages to be a GOAT, FGC growth will probably explode.
Some thing about this version of sf5 while enjoyable and hits those endorphins buttons is really hollow and non full filling. It’s almost like casual sex lol… It’s really not worth the effort you put into it…and after enough of it leaves you a bit unsatisfied in the end.
But it feels good while playing and everyone else is doing it.
I love SF and sf5 is fun but I never feel like I’m actually Superior to my opponents even really really bad ones
Ya, just asking for clarification on that cause it looked like a backwards ass statement. That’ll do.
Yep. People may not like the game, but they seem to dislike not playing way more than they dislike it.
So its worse. People are always kicking and screaming into new games. You learn to filter it out and then read the good point/counterpoint discussions about the qualities of it.
Considering it’s launch, which is deffo up there in terms of worst in the last 10 years, it’s done pretty well. Unique sales for V mean a little less on a pure number ratio when we consider the post-release content plan they introduced for V.
Idk if there’s any way to track DLC/Pass sales, but they would probably compare to IVs profit margins.
I hate losing and quitting. So whenever I get salty at SFV I always come back like “nah fuck that noise, I’m getting mines”.
Viscious cycle of love and hate, but I ain’t going down like no bitch.
You aren’t looking for clarification, you’re instigating for an opening. The fact that I don’t get personal with people says enough about how I feel on any of that.
Yeah, totally instigating. Asking for clarification on what looked like hypocrisy within a timespan of a few hours, in a non-aggressive manner.
Just pining for it myself.
Exaclty, jumping the gun on shit. Just how you get at a bunch of people in this thread just for the sake of arguing with them.
Jumping the gun is now asking a dude a question, lmao.
Quite sure with the way the costumes work in V the DLC sales dwarf the ones of IV
Now here’s the thing, every single “current” game has seen huge increase in entry numbers in recent years. The competitive scene for Fighting Games has become more popular, SF has always led in entrants has it not? I am not saying it’s a bad thing, but I think it’s important to account for the nature of the beast, SF is the leading game in the FGC and will probably be forever at this point. Dragon Ball edged it out at Evo but we all know that was a one time thing for the new shiny thing.
I wont argue this because I’m fully aware of the dark ages bantz. I mean the shit was say on the discord is… uh well it’s not pretty. I suppose my reaction to it was based on the PC culture we live in now. Especially since JWong didn’t clap back with the same stuff but I suppose Wong just isn’t the verbal clap back type. I wont retract my statement though only because I know Wong is a monster and hearing some lost to time old head try to trash a dude that has results from Sailor Moon S to Rising Thunder is enough for me to disregard his shit talk lol
Based Logan putting the monkey man in his place.
Since you’re clearly singling me out with those quotes let me just say that your double standards stink.
It’s okay for users to call others “delusional with conditions” for trying keep the hate levelheaded, and it’s okay to invalidate someone’s opinion because of perceived palm-greasing (which is a disgusting accusation when unproven). But when someone dishes out at them a taste of their own medicine it’s an escalation(!).
Whatever.
My bottomline: When you point the finger, there 3 fingers pointing back at you. Don’t say or imply something about someone if you are not prepared for it to be thrown right back at you.
First off, I’m not singling you out. That’s just the latest permutation of it. The reply to you wasn’t aimed at you, it was a general one.
The work, paid or not, that Logan gets to do in Europe is partially carried by his relationship with Capcom. WSO was used as a pseudo capcom showcase various times and he is very involved with it. It’d be silly to say that he doesn’t have a vested interest in the perception of Capcom’s flagship product nor that he isn’t in a position where managing it doesn’t end up benefiting him in some ways either (whether financial or through clout afforded by it).
We know that he has contacts with Capcom offices, we know that he’s gone out of his way to defend Capcom at various times on twitter and that said positions have turned into work for him. Outside of whether his response to EC had merit in that way, those are things that are just facts and have been for a lot of SF5’s lifespan.
Capcom could be doing a way better job of communicating. They are choosing not to. They could’ve just as easily given a spoiler to build up hype for Final Round. People aren’t mad at no new content, they are mad at no new communication. We went from a year with very active communication to one that is going in the opposite direction. Of course people have problems.
I’m kinda over his doom and gloom around S4. We know all this is probably the last hurrah before we get USF5 Remix edition. I think people are just being manbabies about this now. Yeah Capcom sucks the big one when it comes to communication but you’d have to be an ass muncher to think fucking donutsteel Kage is the last character.
I’m gonna suck with whoever is next and niggas will go back to Ryu after 2 days anyway.
Lol we need some some news ASAP thread is going feral
Capcom: “Hey guys, it’s Capcom, we’re going to break down the next Season’s characters! Not just one but all of them! But first make sure you hit that like buttin”
-They reveal Crimson Viper, Maki, Eagle, Necroz and Evil Falke
-Nobody complains about Capcom leaving them in the dark
-Everyone goes back to complaining about broken top tiers, why Makoto isn’t in because of Laura and Cammy getting all of the outfits but at least we know about the yearly DLC
DASSIT MANE. JUST TELL US WHO THE FUCKING CHARACTERS ARE. We can spend the next half a year talking about mechanical changes but just give us the god damn character reveals.
I swear to God I’m going to clap some shit up.
But I did tell you all, we aren’t getting ANY news until they’re done with Resident Evil (DONE) and now it’s DMC’s turn (not done) so Final Round reveal makes sense.
Also if you don’t read any of this just remember, no matter what new character or mechanical change, the entire essence of this game is shit. If you want new neutral, new combo ability, new system then just wait for the next Capcom fg.
Please hit that like button.
We all have a vested interest in Capcom. We have TOs, streamers, journalists, youtubers, and players dedicated to the franchise for decades.
Should the Capcom pseudo-reps keep quiet when people need to quelled the most? Matt didn’t have to say anything on the stream the other day, neither did Logan now. But they did and I am glad they did.
Logan OBVIOUSLY has contacts and insider information, but that doesn’t invalidate him as a fan of the game or a member of the community which is what and who he is first and foremost. Calling his integrity into question for literally giving it straight is poor judgment if I ever saw it.
Then you have Ono, who probably preferred to keep his hospitalization private as evidenced by his first Evo Japan tweet but I bet that he felt compelled to reveal his condition just to appease the relentless haters against Capcom online recently.
